After purchasing Tock, Amex to fold it into Resy in Summer 2026

Late last week, American Express announced plans to fold the Tock dining reservation platform into the Resy in Summer 2026. Tock features many Michelin-starred stalwarts across the country, which will make this great news for fine-dining aficionados with Resy credits to use.

I enjoyed a fun meal at the kitchen table at Alinea years ago and would be happy to be able to use a Resy credit to go back one day.

This is big news for fine dining enthusiasts who have credit cards that feature quarterly or semi-annual Resy credits, since it will add thousands more restaurants and wineries where those credits could be valid. My wife and I have enjoyed meals at a number of restaurants on the Tock platform over the years, including at Alinea after finishing the Chicago Marathon and at The French Laundry to celebrate an anniversary. We don’t regularly dine at any restaurants on Tock, but we’ll certainly be happy to have those places eligible for Resy credits when the opportunity strikes to visit them. While those restaurants usually require paying in advance (thus making it hard to stack multiple Resy credits on a single dine), they often feature wine pairings that are paid at the restaurant separately and thus could potentially be used to trigger a couple of Resy credits.

Tim tells me that there are also many wineries that use Tock for tastings, so that should be another great way to make use of a Resy credit for those enthusiastic about trying different wines.

We don’t yet know exactly when Tock will be folded into Resy, but we do know that Amex intends to discontinue the Tock app and platform and fold it directly into Resy. They say the change is coming “this summer”, so I expect that integrations will still be several months away. Nonetheless, this is welcome news.

It would be really excellent if this could happen prior to my upcoming Napa trip. Pretty sure every winery I booked with used Tock.

A few of the wineries that I frequent are on Tock. I’m guessing that tasting fees would work for the Resy credits, but I wonder if my regular wine buying would trigger the credit too.

The big question is whether gift cards will work at some of these places. $100 off at the French Laundry or Alinea isn’t much, but if I could stack multiple $100 credits using gift cards it could make a dent in the bill.

Currently, there are a bunch of restaurants that use Tock for ticketed special events/experiences/classes but not for normal reservations. For example, I have a local pasta shop that uses it for their pasta making classes but is otherwise just walk-in for lunch and dinner service. It will be interesting to see how the credits end up working at these places since currently you don’t need to book through Resy to trigger the credit.

In fact, my local wine shop uses Tock for their tastings. It would be pretty cool if I’d be able to trigger the credits by just picking up a bottle of wine there.

Lookin’ good in those pics, Nick!
