There’s a new, targeted Leading Hotels of the World Amex Offer out, which gives 15,000 Membership Rewards points when spending $700 or more on room rate and room charges. Hotel Amex Offers are frequently only valid domestically, but this one works in the US and at a robust selection of international properties.
We value Membership Rewards at 1.5 cents each, so this works out to ~$225 in earnings from $700 in spend, or ~30% back.

Quick Thoughts
Leading Hotels of the World is a loose affiliation of over 400 luxury hotels around the world. It’s comparable to Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) and Preferred Hotels, but tends to lean towards higher-end properties than those other programs. It’s been on our minds a lot more recently, ever since it became a transfer partner of Citi ThankYou Rewards at a rate that makes it a decent use for your Citi points.
The list of included properties for this offer is robust. Based on first glance, it seems to include the bulk of Leading Hotels of the World’s global collection…one that features some very, very nice hotels. Even if you’re booking on points, this can be used for additional fees and on-site dining, provided you’re able to charge it to your room and pay through the hotel.

I smell an Amex transfer partner in the making. As well as Bilt’s.
