Gift cards still represent poor value at a bit less than 1.2c per point even with this sale, but if you’re flush with Citi points and have no plans to travel, this could be appealing.

Quick Thoughts
Citi puts gift cards on sale like this from time to time. Gift cards almost always yield poor value for points as compared to using points for travel redemptions via transfer partners. However, if you have a lot of Citi points and no plans to travel, this certainly could be of interest, particularly given the inclusion of Apple. Apple rarely offers discounts, and it is not commonly possible to get Apple gift cards on sale. While you’ll only get about 1.18c per point redeeming for Apple gift cards here, that is obviously better than redeeming points for $0.01 each if you will be buying Apple products.
