6

Bilt Rewards announced details today of its next Rent Day promotion for May 1. You’ll be able to get a bonus of 40%-100% when transferring your Bilt points to Avios programs.

Bilt Rent Day May 2026 Avios transfer bonus

The Deal

  • Get a bonus when transferring Bilt Rewards points to British Airways, Iberia, and/or Aer Lingus on May 1, 2026:
    • Blue status = 40% bonus
    • Silver status = 50% bonus
    • Gold status = 60% bonus
    • Platinum status = 75% bonus
    • Platinum status + $150 Bilt Cash = 100% bonus

Key Terms

  • Offer valid May 1, 2026 from 12am ET through 11:59pm PT.
  • Redeem $150 Bilt Cash to boost bonus by one level.
  • Capped at 100K transferred Bilt Rewards points across all Avios programs.

Quick Thoughts

This coming month’s Rent Day transfer bonus is a little different to normal in a couple of different ways.

First, bonuses are commonly 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% depending on if you have Blue, Silver, Gold, or Platinum status respectively. On May 1 though, the bonuses will be 40%, 50%, 60%, and 75% respectively. That means it’s a much better month than normal for base level Blue members, but not as good for Gold and Platinum members.

The other key point to be aware of is that transfers are capped at 100,000 Bilt Rewards points across all three Avios programs cumulatively. I don’t believe we’ve seen limits like this imposed in the past, so hopefully this is a one-off situation due to it being Avios programs and not a harbinger of limits on all future Rent Day transfer bonuses. If 100K point limits do become the norm, that could make the Bilt Rewards ecosystem a little less appealing for those with expensive rents, those who spend a lot on Bilt credit cards, and/or those who earn lots of rewards via Bilt’s partnership with Rakuten. Some people save up their Bilt points in order to transfer all or most of them in one fell swoop when there’s a particularly enticing transfer bonus, so if their ability to do that becomes capped, that could reduce the appeal of racking up Bilt points in bulk.

Truly promoting an earn and burn plan – not hoard for a good bonus option; I think 100k bonus limit is here to stay for the future and even higher Bilt Cash for the boost.

When they had the Rent Day transfer bonus to Alaska back in 2024, the bonus was limited to the first 50k points you transferred.

Great memory you are right.

The $150 BILT cash to upgrade is also notable.

When the initial terms released, it strongly implied the base bonus cost would be $75 BC, albeit with a clear caveat they could alter it (it specifically said $75)

Then they released JAL at 135. Fine, JAL is a high value partner, makes sense to not give an extra 25% for cheap

But then Wyndham was also $125 BC, and those are not particularly valuable points, and now for only a 15% bonus it costs $150 BC, twice as much as their initial plan

I am no Bilt defender, but I really don’t understand why so many people ever assumed that the B$75 was going to be the constant rate for the transfer upgrade. It was pretty clearly labelled as just an illustrative example. From the email announcement:

example: Gold member can upgrade from 75% to 100% for $75 Bilt Cash; pricing and availability subject to change

I do think it would be nice if there was a standard going rate, as it’s probably the best use of BC and I would like to know how much BC I should be saving for it. But it also makes sense that they would want the flexibility to change it based on the value of what the upgrade is getting you.

I agree with SCO above – Bilt cash is just funny money. Most people putting decent spend on a Bilt 2.0 card are going to be looking for ways to burn Bilt cash by year-end (since you can only carry-over $100. There simply aren’t that many good uses (I’m personally frustrated that you still can’t use it on Blacklane, though I’m sure I’m in the minority). And for most people, upgrading a transfer bonus is a one-time or once-a-year event. If you are spending Bilt cash to upgrade transfer bonuses every month, you’re doing something wrong.
