30% transfer bonus from Citi ThankYou to Preferred Hotels I Prefer (1,000:2,600)

0

Through June 13th, 2026, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time, Citi Thank You Rewards is offering a 30% transfer bonus to Preferred Hotels I Prefer. With this bonus, Citi Strata Elite, Citi Strata Premier, Citi Prestige, and AT&T Access More card members can transfer 1,000 Citi Thank You Points to become 2,600 Preferred Hotels I Prefer points. That’s not nearly as strong a deal as the previous transfer ratio of 1:4 that just ended last month. If you didn’t transfer before that ended, this is certainly better than the 1:2, the ordinary one-to-two transfer ratio.

Quick Thoughts

We’ve written a lot about Preferred Hotels over the last couple of years. Preferred Hotels has an interesting loyalty program in the sense that not all Preferred Hotels are bookable with I Prefer points. Some of them are bookable with Choice Privileges points. Some of them are bookable with I Prefer points. Some of them are bookable with either currency.

In order to figure out which currency is your best option (or your only option, as the case may be), see our complete guide to booking Preferred Hotels with Points.

Just last month, the transfer ratio from Citi Thank You Rewards to Preferred Hotels I Prefer dropped from 1:4 to the current 1:2 transfer ratio for the card members listed above. With this 30% bonus, eligible cardholders will get 2,600 I Prefer points per 1,000 Citi points, which is still less than the 4,000 points they received under the ordinary transfer ratio until April 17. That makes this transfer bonus less exciting overall. However, if you missed out on the chance to transfer your points to I Prefer before that ratio changed, this is obviously a better deal than 1:2. There are indeed some places where you can still get a great deal with your I Prefer points so getting a 30% transfer bonus can make that a slightly better deal and might actually change the math in terms of whether you should use Choice Privileges points or I Prefer points.
