[…] that old and young alike have AARP memberships (thanks to their generous $400 discount on British Airways business and first class flights), you might be wondering about those points that show up at the top of the screen when you log into […]

[…] that was key to last weeks British Airways business class for $646 or less out of pocket has been extended to be valid for outbound travel through March 2017. This discount is why I am an AARP member, and it rather surprises me that they continue to offer […]
I booked a ticket for travel in April of while the fare sale was going on a few days ago, but the discount hadn’t been extended then. Do you think I could claim an additional discount?
Hmm, I think it would be unlikely, but you could try contacting AARP to see if there’s anything they can do for you.
[…] That was interesting! The AARP website clearly stated that the discount is for outbound travel November 1, 2014 – March 31, 2016. Clearly they had extended the effective travel period without updating their website (note: they finally updated the website sometime over the weekend). […]
I wonder if you can use the BA companion pass for a second ticket if your on BA.
I think those are just for award tickets
So if I am booking flights for 2 will I need two AARP numbers or one to get the discount?
Just one. Only one person on the itinerary needs to be an AARP member (I doubt they check anyway)
Thanks for the update! That’s awesome news.
I just joined this week (@32yo) and bought 5 tickets for my family to Spain on lie flat beds from ORD. Total out of pocket was just $1700 after spending Avios (that I’ll earn back).
