(EXPIRED) Alaska Airlines running award & fare sale for flights through mid-December; book by 8/10

Alaska Airlines has launched a new sale that’s valid on both paid and award tickets. Award flights are starting at 4,500 miles one-way, while transcontinental tickets can be had from only $129 (or possibly less).

Quick Thoughts

With this sale, award flights ae starting at 4,500 miles one-way between some city pairings, with transcontinental flights (e.g. San Francisco to Washington D.C. and Spokane to Atlanta) available from only 10,000 Mileage Plan miles one-way.

Note that the award sale at least is only available for travel on certain dates. For example, the only 10k flights I found from SFO to IAD were on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but I imagine the availability will vary depending on which cities you’re looking at.

While 10k miles for a nonstop transcontinental flight (albeit in economy) can be a good deal compared to how many miles other programs might charge, you might still be better off booking a paid fare. For example, for that SFO to IAD route Alaska has one-way fares from only $129.

Note that flights have to be booked by August 10, but it’s valid on travel (on select days) through December 13, 2023.
