These types of Visa gift card deals only require that you spend $100 or more which means they work on variable load cards. That means it’s best to buy a $500 Visa gift card if you want to maximize the bonused spend opportunity seeing as you’d be paying a $5.95 activation fee anyway.
That $5.95 activation fee means you’ll come out ahead by $4.05 even before taking into account the bonus points you’ll earn from your credit card. For example, paying with an Amex Gold card would earn you 1,984 Membership Rewards on top of the $4.05 profit.
It’s best to save this digital coupon to your account ASAP as Just For U coupons sometimes disappear before their expiry date if you’ve not already clipped them.

So long as you’re not working on the minimum spend of a new Gold card, I’ve not heard any DPs suggesting Amex is clawing back transactions of this nature.

Since these are Metas, it will be a pain to liquidate.
