Earning 1,200 bonus Membership Rewards after $150 of spend is a very good return on your spend. This offer is particularly useful for those who spend quite a bit on Amazon as it can be redeemed up to three times for a total of 3,600 bonus points. I’m not sure though if spending $450 will trigger all three 1,200 points bonuses, or if it would need to be done in separate transactions. Update: Thanks to Kathleen in the comments for confirming that spending $450 in one transaction does indeed trigger all three sets of 1,200 bonus points.
This offer will stack nicely with the separate promotion offering up to 50% off when redeeming at least one Membership Rewards point, provided you spend at least $150.
If you don’t need to spend at least $150 on Amazon purchases before this offer expires on October 25 but you know you will need to in the future, it’s easy enough to lock in the bonus Membership Rewards from this Amex Offer. Simply reload your Amazon account balance or send yourself an Amazon gift card. That’ll trigger the Amex Offer bonus points, then you can redeem the gift cards/reloaded balance in the future. You could also buy third party gift cards from Amazon such as Airbnb, Southwest, etc.
My wife and I each found this offer on one of our Amex Platinum cards, while I also found it on a Business Gold card. I’ve seen people mention seeing it on other types of Amex card, so be sure to check all your Membership Rewards-earning cards as one specific type of card isn’t being targeted.
