Amazon: Save when redeeming at least 1 Membership Rewards point [Targeted]

21

Amazon is out with a new pay-with-points promotion whereby targeted members can save when using at least 1 American Express Membership Rewards point to pay. As has been the case in the past, there is a good chance that multiple different offers exist, so it’s worth checking to see whether you have an offer and what it is.

The Deal

  • Amazon.com is offering a new targeted deal to receive a discount when using at least 1 Membership Rewards point during checkout. Example deals we have seen include:
    • 30% off up to $30 off of $100
  • Direct link to this deal (our affiliate link)

Key Terms

  • This is a limited time offer. The promotion will end on the earlier of (a) 5:00 pm PT on 6/30/2024 or (b) the time at which 24,167 customers have redeemed the offer. The promotion button will expire concurrently.
  • Amazon.com reserves the right to cancel or modify this offer at any time.
  • Offer is available by invitation only, is non-transferable, is not redeemable for cash, and may not be resold.
  • Offer applies only to products where Membership Rewards points are used for at least a portion of the product and the promotion is applied at checkout.
  • This offer only applies to eligible products. Eligible products means products sold and shipped by Amazon.com. Products sold by third-party sellers or other Amazon entities are not eligible, even if they are fulfilled by Amazon.com or Prime eligible. Digital content products are also not eligible.
  • Shipping charges may apply to eligible products and discounted promotional items.
  • Maximum benefit you may receive from this offer is $30 per eligible Membership Rewards-enrolled Card or per one Amazon account.
  • Offer may not be combined with other offers.
  • Offer discount will be allocated proportionally among all promotional items in your original order. If any of the items in your original order are subsequently returned, your refund will equal the original price of the product, less the proportional amount of the discount. The total discount on the unreturned amount of your original order will then be less than the maximum discount availed.
  • If you used points for all or part of your order and any of the products related to your original order are returned, subject to Amazon’s return policy, you will receive a refund of the amount charged to your Card. If you would like Membership Rewards® points returned to your account instead of a refund to your Card, you must contact American Express.
  • If a refund cannot be processed by American Express for reasons including but not limited to closure of your Card Account, Amazon will issue an Amazon Gift Card to you for an amount equal to the value of the Membership Rewards points used towards your product.
  • Promotional codes (including those placed directly in accounts) may not be redeemed for Amazon Gift Cards.
  • This promotion is available only to Amazon.com customers with an eligible Membership Rewards-enrolled Card issued in United States. Promotional credit is applied before taxes and fees.
  • If you violate any of these terms, the offer will be invalid.
  • Terms and Conditions for the Membership Rewards program apply. Visit membershiprewards.com/terms for more information. Participating partners and available rewards are subject to change without notice.
  • The value of Membership Rewards points varies according to how you choose to use them. To learn more, go to www.membershiprewards.com/pointsinfo. See full Shop with Points Terms and Conditions for details on www.amazon.com/amexmr.

Quick Thoughts

Personally, both my wife and I got targeted for 30% off up to $30 off of $100, which is a deal that we’ll certainly use since we shop at Amazon all the time. While the terms indicate that this deal can not be used on conjunction with other deals, we often find that it does indeed stack with things like Prime Day deals (and likely with things like the “Big Spring Sale” happening from March 20-25).

It’s worth hitting the “activate” button sooner rather than later since I expect that even more eyeballs than usual will be heading to Amazon later this week for those Big Spring Deals. If you don’t see anything that catches your eye during that event, this discount when paying with points is scheduled to run until 6/30/24, so you should have some time to find something over the next couple of months.

Keep in mind that there are usually multiple different offer versions, but it only takes a second to click through and check which you might have. Let us know what offer you’ve gotten in the comments.

any way to use this to buy amazon gift cards (electronic or physical)? I know it works with other gift cards (itunes, gap etc) even the same 3rd party merchant (ACI Gift Cards, Inc.), it doesn’t work for Amazon gift cards

Page comes back with “undefined”

Daniel Kimberlin

I got “10% off up to $10” 🙁

Gaby

I just got the $60 off with your affiliate link. Thanks, Nick!

Kurt

Enrolling any of my many Amex cards just does not work. For example:

“Your card has been added to the Amazon account (k***@***m). However, we were unable to enroll a rewards account. Please check here for eligibility information.”

Randy

I got the useless $15 off with 714 points offer from my Amazon Prime Account. However, last summer my wife setup a non-prime Amazon account and linked her AMEX card in attempt to get a deal on that Prime day. No offer last Summer for her but Today there was an $80 offer! Sweet! This was our first order with this new Amazon account. It may be a good idea to create a new Amazon account linked to your AMEX card for the next Prime Day offers.

Denise

Got 60% up to $40 on both of our accounts. I used one yesterday (not thinking of the Prime Day Deals) to buy gift cards–still a good deal. Today, I bought $200 worth of GC for $104.99 +1MR pt. Thank you, Amazon!

Denise

Obviously, I am not fully caffeinated… 40% up to $60. And the reason I got $200 worth of GC is I stacked with those that had a Prime Deal–i.e. buy a $50 GC and get $10 off.

McAnd

I got 50% off up to $80 off!! On mine and my husbands accounts! Yesterday I couldn’t get anything.

Points Adventure

The gift that keeps on giving. Thanks for posting.

Mitch

I also got the 15% off up to $15 using 714 points, and agree, Meh.
Anyone have any ideas what type of activity might trigger the better rewards?

JBCH

I got this promotion…bummer

Get 15% off eligible products when using a minimum of 714 Membership Rewards points.
Maximum discount $15.

Kevin

I got 50% off up to $80. Screenshot available if you DM me

ermin

How do I DM you?

I was offered 40% off with up to $60 (so basically for spend up to $150) about 10 days ago. I used that offer to place an order for one of the buying groups. That order was canceled and the offer was never restored to my account. A few min after that cancellation, I placed the exact same order and that went through and was delivered the next day. Then today, I had another offer for 60% off up to $80, and I placed another order going to BG address. Same story repeated today as well. I wonder if they have an algorithm for this!

ABC

I was offered a discount of $15 when using 714 MR points. Kind of weird offer. Meh.

Colleen

Same here. Totally weird and meh.

Vince

ditto

skaballet

Same. I’ve gotten this offer before – pass.

Alex Z.

Same. Useless.

John

Got the 714 offer…totally worthless.
