Update: There’s a 50,000 point + $100 statement credit version of the offer that shows up when going through the steps of booking an Amtrak trip. You don’t have to finalize the booking to get the offer to show up. Thanks to Aloha808 in the comments for the heads up.

Quick Thoughts
50,000 points is the best offer we’ve ever seen on this Amtrak card. While 50,000 points might not sound all that amazing considering all the 100,000+ point offers out there on other cards, this welcome bonus has shot this card into the top 5 welcome offers for personal cards on our Best Offers page.
That’s due to how valuable Amtrak Guest Rewards points are. The points have somewhat fixed values depending on how they’re redeemed, but you can get up to 2.9 cents per point of value out of them which means 50,000 bonus points can be redeemed for up to $1,450 of value. That’s an incredible amount of value for a card with an annual fee of only $79 seeing as three of the four cards above it on the Best Offers page have annual fees of $695.
This increased bonus is available through September 30, 2021, so you have almost two months in which to apply for this increased offer.

can the points be transferred to be used for airlines or hotels? who out west travels by train any more.
The Amtrak points are not useful for me. Are the Hilton and Choice transfers still available? I have seen conflicting posts on this.
I don’t think they are anymore, at least not for people without Amtrak status.
An additional $100 credit is available on top of the 50k SUB, when doing a dummy booking.
What is a dummy booking?
It’s where you pretend to book a trip on Amtrak’s website. Before paying for the ticket, you’ll see an offer for 50,000 points + $100. You can then apply for the card without having to buy the train ticket.
Thanks! I got approved. I got this card 2 years ago in September and closed it last year in October. I only applied for 1 card this year, so that probably helped.
