Bilt Rent Day: 25-100% Bonus When Redeeming Points for Gift Cards (don’t do it)

Bilt Rewards has announced its Rent Day promos for July. The headliner is that Bilt cardholders will get up to a 100% bonus towards redeeming points for gift cards.

That sounds great on the surface, but Bilt Rewards redeem at ~0.7 cents each when used this way, so even the 100% bonus for Platinum members will push it to only ~1.4 cents, below our Reasonable Redemption Value of 1.55 cents each for Bilt Points.

In addition to the gift card promo, Bilt cardholders will also get the normal mix of other Rent Day promos, including double points on all non-rent purchases (up to 1,000 bonus points).

Bilt Rent Day Deals for July

• Bilt Mastercard holders will get a 25%-100% bonus when redeeming Bilt points for gift card purchases on July 1st, 2025.
  • Bonus rates depend on status in the Bilt Rewards program:
    • Blue = 25% bonus
    • Silver = 50% bonus
    • Gold = 75% bonus
    • Platinum = 100%  bonus
• Also, earn double points on the Bilt Mastercard in all categories (up to 1,000 bonus points) on 7/1/25 only:
  • Dining – 6x points (normally 3x)
  • Travel – 4x points (normally 2x)
  • All other spend, excluding rent – 2x points (normally 1x)

Quick Thoughts

This month’s bonus might sound lucrative, but it isn’t. Unfortunately, Bilt’s standard rate for gift card redemptions is a measly 0.7 cents each. Because of that, the promo will only elevate them to somewhere between .875 – 1.4 cents of value when using them for gift cards, well below what could be had by transferring the points to travel partners.

There might be folks out there who have millions of Bilt Points to burn. For them, the opportunity to redeem some of them for gift cards at ~1 cent each could be appealing. For the rest of us with more modest balances, it probably won’t move the needle much…and shouldn’t.

That said, the normal 2x Rent Day on the 1st makes it the ideal time to hit your 5 transaction minimum in order to earn points on rent and/or all of your card purchases, so don’t forget to bust it out if you’re a cardholder.
