Quick Thoughts
I’ve been intrigued by Breeze Airways since they launched, but I’ve not had a chance to fly with them yet. We used to live in Portsmouth, VA and the closest airport was Norfolk (ORF). Norfolk has a number of airlines that fly to/from it, but most nonstop routes are only to major cities like New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., etc.
Breeze Airways has greatly expanded the number of different cities you can now fly to nonstop from there. Charleston (SC), Hartford, Jacksonville (FL), Las Vegas, Long Island/Islip, New Orleans, Providence and Tampa are all served from Norfolk year-round, with additional seasonal routes to/from Akron/Canton, Columbus–Glenn, Fort Myers, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Portland (ME), Syracuse and White Plains. If we still lived in the Hampton Roads area, being able to fly nonstop to cities like Charleston, New Orleans and Las Vegas would be awesome.
This promotion giving $50 off round trip tickets has the potential to offer even greater value. For example, flying round trip from Norfolk to Las Vegas from September 25-29 would ordinarily cost $243 with Breeze, so using the EZ50 promo code would reduce that to $193. That’s excellent value for a nonstop flight considering it’s almost $70 than a Spirit flight with two stops and more than $100 cheaper than a Delta flight with one stop.
As with all low cost carriers, it’s important to also consider what you’re not getting. For that type of fare you don’t get seat assignments and only a personal item is included – carry-on and checked bags come with additional fees.
