Yesterday we covered the increased rates available for Giftcards.com purchases through a few different shopping portals. It turns out that the British Airways shopping portal is also offering higher rates for gift card purchases from that site too.

Quick Thoughts
I’d initially missed that the BA shopping portal was offering higher rates for Giftcards.com because it looks like Cashback Monitor isn’t tracking it. When randomly checking the site today though, I spotted the fact that you can earn up to 8x on gift card purchases.
4x on Visa and Mastercard gift cards is pretty good, but it might make more sense to buy those after clicking through from the Rove shopping portal. That’s because Rove is also offering 4x, but Rove’s earnings are transferable points to a wide range of loyalty programs. However, Avios programs aren’t – somewhat surprisingly – currently Rove transfer partners, so if it’s Avios you’re after, the British Airways portal will be the better option.
Earning 8x Avios on multi-brand gift cards is a good deal too. That includes the various flavors of One4All gift cards that can be exchanged for gift cards for all kinds of brands; Airbnb, Southwest, Home Depot, and Lyft – along with all kinds of other brands – are available on some of those cards. It also looks like Giftcards.com gift cards might be eligible under the multi-brand banner too. If so, you can redeem those for any gift cards from Giftcards.com which makes it an even more flexible option.
Some people have been targeted for 5% back on Giftcards.com via a Chase Offer, so that can save you money in addition to the earnings from a shopping portal.

Fun fact about the BA portal, it says it pays out 4x Avios for Marriott bookings. But if you look in the T&Cs it says: “Stated reward is for a Hotel booking in the US & Canada. All hotels bookings in other countries will receive a higher reward.” In my experience in a few countries, that means 6 Avios / USD. And it is consistently available at this rate. Not bad!
