Quick Thoughts
Apple gift cards have been on sale a lot recently, with Best Buy and Target both giving $15 of their own gift cards free when buying $100 Apple gift cards, Safeway was offering 12x points (worth up to 30% off gas) and more.
If you missed out on those deals or just can’t get enough of Apple gift cards, this is still a great offer. You get $15 of Amazon promotional credit which isn’t quite the same as an Amazon gift card. The promotional credit will be emailed to you (usually 2-3 days after your purchase) which comes in the form of a code you enter during the checkout process when making a future purchase. The credit usually expires after a couple of months or so; that isn’t too much of an issue for most people seeing as they’ll be doing holiday shopping on Amazon in the next month, but it’s still worth keeping in mind so that you don’t forget to redeem it.
This offer goes live at 9am ET. It’ll be a popular deal and so might sell out quickly, but perhaps Amazon has plenty of promotional credits to go around.
This deal is actually working, but the implementation is a complete cluster***. Good discussion with full details and tips over at DoC. It’s not intuitive at all and requires some faith, but many folks are getting it to work.
Don’t try to use this via the mobile app most people are getting errors. Often you have to apply the code get told it doesn’t work remove the item from your cart re-add it and go back to checkout and the promotion will now show as active.
Ps this worked for me 5 min ago. Credit goes to the slickdeals community
The code doesnt work. It expired on Nov 5th
Date issue in the fine print since the promo started today at 9am the code won’t expire in the past. No one has yet received a code and site says expect it in 3 days.
The terms states it started on Sept 7 and ends on Nov 5th. Apparently someone at Amazon made a mistake. When applying the code it doesnt accept it.
The mistake was in that language not the code itself. Promo was good and I’ve already received my credit. It came via eamil the next day and is valid until 1/16/22.
This code does not work. It says it expire Nov 5th
“Promotion Terms
This is a limited time offer while supplies last. In order to qualify for the promotional credit, you must: (1) purchase at least $100 of select Apple Digital Gift Cards (“GC”) in a single order at Amazon.com starting Sept 7th, 6:00 AM (PT); and (2) enter the promotional code “APPLENOV” in the “Gift Cards & Promotional Codes” box when you check out.
The last time they ran this promotion, in October ($10 credit with “APPEOCT”) the expiration date in the T&C was the same (“Nov 5”). The code I received from that promotion had a different expiration date in the email when I received it (Dec 2). I was able to redeem it on Nov 23, so clearly the “Nov 5” expiration was (and is) an error.
The main issue with this promotion is the difficulty in finding an item which qualifies. Not all “Sold by Amazon.com” products trigger the $10 credit during checkout. After searching for hours, I found these 3M N95 masks: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008MCUZZS/ I tried many others that “Ships from and sold by Amazon.com” but this is the only item I could find that triggered the credit. During checkout it displayed “Apple Credit: $10” in the Order Summary. The current promotion probably works the same.
I’ll post here to, the terms were incorrect – deal was good. Credits have now been received (I got mine) – they took 24hrs and are valid until 1/16/22
