Capital One Offers has a very interesting offer at the moment for Belk. You can earn 16x miles (or 16% cashback if you have a cashback-earning card) on purchases in-store at Belk when paying with a targeted Capital One card, with a limit of three offer activations.
While that’s a generous earning rate for in-store purchases as it is, what makes it particularly interesting is that Belk stores have gift card racks with third party gift cards, as well as Visa and Mastercard gift cards. The terms state that gift card purchases are excluded, but I’m not convinced that’ll be enforced.

The Deal
- Earn 16x Capital One miles/16% cashback at Belk when paying with a targeted linked card.
Key Terms
- Expires 1 week after activation.
- Limit 3 card activations.
- To earn the payout you must make an eligible purchase at belk.com or at a Belk store.
- Not eligible for purchases of gift cards.
Quick Thoughts
Capital One Offers is, for the most part, an online shopping portal that’s only available to Capital One cardholders (note that it’s different to Capital One Shopping which is a shopping portal open to everyone – even non-cardholders). Capital One Offers does have some card-linked in-store offers though, with this Belk offer being one such example.
On my wife’s Venture X cards, she could earn 5x for an online Belk purchase or 16x for an in-store Belk purchase. The in-store offer requires activation and you can activate the spending offer up to three different times. If you’re targeted for this offer on more than one Capital One card, you’ll be able to redeem it three times on each of your cards.
As mentioned earlier, the reason this deal is so noteworthy is that Belk historically has had gift card racks that not only sell Belk gift cards, but third party cards too like Amazon, Best Buy, eBay, etc., too, as well as Visa and Mastercard gift cards. Earning 16x transferable miles three times on each targeted card therefore makes for a very rewarding deal. I can’t guarantee that Belk does still have these gift card racks; they certainly did a few years ago and so hopefully nothing has changed since then.

There is a big caveat with this offer though: gift card purchases are listed as being excluded. However, I’m not convinced that’ll be enforced for in-store purchases. I suspect it relates to purchases of Belk gift cards online as payment for those is processed by CashStar rather than Belk. For in-store purchases, I’d be surprised if third party or Visa/Mastercard gift card purchases didn’t earn 16x, but it’s up to you how hard you want to hit this offer knowing that there is a risk that it won’t pay out.
Speaking of hitting this offer hard, there’s nothing in the terms stating a limit on the maximum number of miles you can earn. That doesn’t mean there’s not an undisclosed cap, but it might be the case that there isn’t a cap and you can earn 16x on three transactions for however much in gift cards the store is willing to sell you.
To access your Capital One Offers, log in to your account and then scroll down to the section where it says ‘Activate shopping offers.’ Click on ‘View all offers’ and then use the search box to look for your Belk offer.
This offer is currently due to expire on February 23, so if you have a Belk store nearby then it could be worth taking advantage of it before then. Quite a few Capital One Offers in-store deals get extended, but there’s no guarantee that’ll be the case with this 16x rate.

C1 Offers offered some great offers last week, and I received an email confirming that I qualified for the offer and should expect the reward. But when I log into my account, it says ineligible. And C1O doesn’t have a support email address which means I have to call in to get the reward. Annoying.
That being said, there were a lot of generous offers on that day (67%, 50% and 33% off at mercents like Woot, Walmart, SamsClub, Expedia, Macys, etc.), and what is surprising is that these offers were in the AU account. I normally don’t log into that account but that day my password manager did the log in by accident.
