Quick Thoughts
Chase is really diving headfirst into wellness apps this week. Years ago, I had the Calm app for a short period via an Amex card benefit that came and went. I can’t recall whether it was the premium option or if there were different versions at the time, but I’ll never forget how surreal it was to have Matthew McConaughey read me a story. I’d never have been able to fall asleep because I was giggling too hard. Years later, that same story was still saved in my account when I activated it after using this offer.
I happen to like white noise and meditation apps, and use them often while I sleep. I’d never pay for one, but this gave me a chance to see what Calm has been up to over the last few years.
Note that you need to purchase the subscription on the website, not in the app. Also, you’ll automatically get a free week’s trial before being charged for a year. Since the first charge needs to take place by 4/14 and the offer expires on 3/31, that shouldn’t be a problem, but it’s something to be aware of in case longer trials are offered.
