Chase Travel Promotion: redeem points for flights with up to a 50% bonus

5

There is a targeted promo floating around for some Chase Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire Reserve cardholders that allows them to redeem points for premium cabin flights on Qatar, United or Delta with up to a 50% bonus when using Chase Travel℠. With the bonus, Sapphire Reserve cardholders will receive 2.25 cents per points value instead of the normal 1.5, while Sapphire Preferred cardholders will receive 1.5, 1.75 or 2 cents per point instead of the usual 1.25.

This appears to be highly targeted; no one on the FM Team has the offer, but Doctor of Credit has posted a screenshot with the full terms. Travel must be booked by 6/15/25, flown by 12/31/25 and be in premium economy, business or first class.

The Deal

  • Chase Travel℠ has a targeted promotion for the some cardholders that allows them to redeem points for travel through the portal with a 50% bonus
    • Valid for United, Delta and Qatar only
    • Valid only for premium economy, business and first class flights
    • Must book by 6/15/25
    • Must travel by 12/31/25

Quick Thoughts

This is a nice deal if you can get it. Normally, Chase points are only worth 1.5 cents each for Sapphire Reserve cardholders when you use them to book travel through the portal, getting 2.25 cents per point will be a better value than transferring them to partners in many instances. In addition, the flight will be considered a cash booking, so you’ll earn miles and elite credit in the process.

Delta being included in this promo is a little strange to me, since they’re a transfer partner of Amex, not Chase. I don’t recall the last time that I’ve seen a Chase promo involving Delta, but this would be great opportunity, since using SkyMiles to book the same flights almost always provides much less than 2.25 cents per point in value.

It’s actually for travel thru 12/31/2026 (not 2025)

Is there a way to find out I’m targeted? Actually looking at potential DL PE fares and this would be a great way to get decent CSR value

Your Delta comment could also apply to Qatar, which is also not a direct transfer partner with Chase. Of course, you can get Avios there indirectly. Like with Delta, they do not have a direct relationship, nor have I seen Qatar-Chase promos.

Also, just as a reminder, people do receive elite credit for Delta award flights, so that is not unique to this method.

Since you can get your Chase points to Avios it’s really not the same at all

Huh? If you read the post, Tim says he is not sure how Delta was included here, since they are not a Chase transfer partner, and there has not been a Chase-Delta promo in recent memory. Usually these promos come about because the bank has a relationship with that specific airline. What I was trying to say is that the same is true for Qatar–they are not a Chase transfer partner. Chase does not issue Qatar’s credit cards. And there has not been any Chase-Qatar promo recently. Of the three airlines included, the only one that Chase has a relationship with is United.
