Citi is sending out targeted spending offers to some cardholders via email that are good for 10x at restaurants and theaters on up to $250 in purchases through 10/31. Keep an eye out for an email and be sure to activate the offer if targeted.

Quick Thoughts
While the low cap here makes the offer feel lukewarm (you’ll max it out after just $250 in purchases), the offer above is still worth looking for given that the categories include restaurants. The points earned here would easily mitigate costs if you’re buying a gift card and/or it would be easy to use this for organic spend and max it out.
Spending offers appear to have gone out for most types of Citi cards, including AAdvantage and ThankYou points-earning cards. It’s worth doing a search in your junk folder, as the titles of the e-mails are usually a bit strange. That’s where mine always end up.

My wife got an offer 5 or was it 6 extra points for paypal. Again low limit 3000 points total.

I applied for the Citi Premier card, have an excellent credit score (hovering around 825) but was denied instantly. The response was that my credit report shows a high amount of unused credit compared to my available credit lines and that my report shows too many bank or national revolving accounts. hmmm? How do you all continue to open new credit cards and qualify for the welcome bonuses. I currently have 8 credit cards active. Should I close some?
I have even called Citi and asked, but in the over 12 years I have had various Citi cards, including one for that entire time, I have NEVER received a targeted offer of any sort, except for them wanting me to open a checking or savings account.
When I have called and asked why they have no answer. I am fine with not always being targeted, but never? That sucks. Any clues or hints on how to start getting at least an offer once in a while, anyone?
I received it for Double Cash only. Not for Custom or Premier
