Shopping portal Rakuten is currently offering some excellent increased payouts for purchases at Dell (which includes 15% back or 15 Membership Rewards points per dollar spent), IHG hotels, and numerous other retailers. Rates may only be through today (1/15/24), but these could be of interest for those with Dell credits to use or those spending at other merchants with increased offers.

Quick Thoughts
The payouts here for Dell will be of particular interest to those with Amex Business Platinum credits to use. I’ve been slower to get those used than I intended and while I had intended to go through the American Airlines AAdvantage eShopping portal for 9x on accessories to help reach my current status challenge, I don’t think I can pass up 15x Membership Rewards points — especially since it applies to both accessories and monitors, which fits for the things I intend to buy.
The payout for IHG is also quite strong. Keep in mind that you do not need to book an advance purchase rate to take advantage of that payout — a rate you book now and pay later at the hotel will still trigger the 9x so long as you book it after clicking through today.

I like buying something for a buyer’s club and getting almost all my $200 back and Rakuten points.
I used Rakuten yesterday and bought Bose QuietComfort® Earbuds II – Triple Black for $298.53 from Dell. Should get the $200 Amex credit and Rakuten has already awarded me $41.85. Total cost $56.68. Looking forward to using them.
Don’t forget, you’ve already prepaid for that $200 AMEX credit in your annual fee.
