Rakuten has a potentially interesting offer at the moment for data privacy company Incogni. You can earn 100% cashback or, more valuably, 100x points – transferable to American Express Membership Rewards or Bilt points – which could make it worth subscribing to even if you have zero interest in the service.

The Deal
- Earn 100x/100% on an Incogni subscription via Rakuten.
- Direct link to offer.
If you’re new to Rakuten
Feel free to use one of our referral links, with our thanks.
Key Terms
- Expiry date unknown.
Quick Thoughts
The 100x earning rate means that this deal is effectively a way to buy Amex Membership Rewards or Bilt points for one cent per point (cpp).
If you are interested in buying one of those types of transferable points for 1cpp, the most expensive Incogni subscription available right now is a Family Unlimited plan for $275.88 for the year which would earn you 27,588 points. Although a monthly plan costs substantially more on an annualized basis, the 100x earnings will likely only apply to the first month’s payment on a monthly plan, so at $45.98 per month you’d only earn 4,598 points.
I’m not aware of any card-linked offers (like Amex Offers, Chase Offers, etc.) for Incogni at the moment, so there doesn’t seem to be a way to stack deals in that respect. If the purchase codes as an electronics store or software purchase, you’ll earn 2x Membership Rewards points by paying with a Business American Express Platinum Card®, or 4x Membership Rewards on an American Express® Business Gold Card if that’s one of your top two spending categories this billing period.

How long do you have to wait before cancelling?
Finally, the article you meant to write!
T&C says “Cash Back is only available for new users and on the first payment of a subscription plan.” I assume that would apply to points.
The fine print says it only works on subscription plans. Does it work on annual plans or just monthly plans and only for the first month?
Yes it works on annual plan. I bought it, and Rakuten shows cash back in the amount I paid ($223.99). Also, I didn’t pay taxes.
I placed an order but it shows 0 pending points. Anyone else have this happen? Any reason for concern?
Reddit… Incogni versus DeleteMe seems very favorable. Even if you don’t use the service – almost 28k in Amex MR points at 1 cent each… I’m in. Thanks FM Team for this – your team is amazing.
For those actually considering use (i.e. NOT just buy then forget)
Anyone have experience with this? The deal would be a 1-year purchase, then cancel. Which means that the service’s removal monitoring would stop.
some on reddit fear that data removal services–paradoxically–proliferate your data because you have to send your data in the removal request.
I also wonder if effectiveness varies state-by-state due to varying data protection laws..
it says first payment of a subscription plan. so that means if you buy for a whole year, you would get 100% back?
If I have the Rakuten cc can I get 4x on this offer?
Yes, an additional 4x. As in 104x, not 400x.
Incogni sends hundreds of data brokers all of the personal information that you provide them (your address, email, phone number, date of birth, whatever) and politely instructs them to delete your information, citing laws from the EU and elsewhere. But…..what happens if those data brokers are not based in the EU? Will they comply, or just happily use all of the provided information and add your name to their lists?
Can I enroll my dog then just for the points?
I think you’re thinking of the Indogni service
Your dog is already enrolled and about to receive 100s of free offers.
