There is a new, targeted Amex offer that gives 5,000 Membership Rewards points back on a $500+ purchase of Delta gift cards. The 5,000 MR bonus is worth $55 if cashed out via a Schwab American Express or ~$78 if using our Reasonable Redemption Values for Amex points.
We found this offer on several of our MR-earning cards and the fact that it’s specifically aimed at gift card purchases makes the offer extremely easy to redeem.
The Deal
- Targeted Amex offer for 5,000 Membership Rewards back on $500+ purchases of Delta gift cards. Enrollment is required and gift cards must be purchased at delta.com/giftcards/amex.
- Purchase must be completed by 9/22/24.

Quick Thoughts
Normally Delta Amex Offers are targeted at airfare purchases directly from Delta, leaving many folks to try and figure out ways to apply it to gift cards or a future flight credit in order to capture the savings from the offer. This one is far easier, as it’s targeted specifically at gift card purchases.
The offer is for a $500+ purchase, but it should go without saying that there’s absolutely no reason to buy more than the $500 minimum necessary to trigger the offer. Instead of the normal 10-20% cash back on these offers, the bonus is in Membership Rewards. Depending on if they’re cashed out or transferred to partners 5,000 MR end up being a return of around 10-15% back on a $500 gift card.
Officially, the offer is good until 9/22, but Delta offers almost always have a maximum redemption limit on them and will often disappear before the expiration date. So, if you’re into this one, I’d advise getting on it sooner than later.

Good luck, I tried last pm and I had an email this am stating that they could not fulfull my request and would refund the money, which they have not done yet.
Seems there different versions of this offer. Found 4000 MR after $400 Delta GC purchase on my Gold card.
