Delta Platinum and Delta Reserve Status Boosts are now being granted mid-cycle.  As a reminder, Delta Reserve cardholders earn 15,000 Medallion Qualifying Miles (MQMs) towards elite status with each $30K of spend, up to $120K of spend per year.  And Delta Platinum cardholders earn 10,000 MQMs at $25K spend and again at $50K spend.  These big spend bonuses are called “Status Boosts”.

In the past, Status Boosts didn’t take effect until the credit card statement closed.  For example, if you just completed $30,000 spend on your Delta Reserve card, you wouldn’t get the 15,000 MQMs until your card statement closed.  Depending on timing, that could be almost a month after you completed the required spend.

Now, though, I’m finding that Status Boosts are happening as soon as the credit card charges move from pending to actual.  This is a nice improvement!  As I reported in the past, I also love the addition of Status Boost tracking that Amex provides when you log into your account:

Incorrect. In the past when the bonus Skymiles posted you could harvest mqms – even mid statement. Been that way for years.

But yes Delta / Amex is niw emailing threshold crossed mid-statement as well.

No. Go back 1+ year ago and you got your bonus (MQM + Miles) mid cycle. For at least the last year however, both Miles and MQMs were not available until the statement closed. Now it looks like it is back to mid cycle, probably because they dropped the bonus miles.
