Dosh has been running several good deals on their app recently, including 3% cashback at Exxon Mobil gas stations and 5% cashback at Sam’s Club and $20 for a new membership.
They’ve now increased the in-store cashback rate for CVS to 5%, although it’s only higher until October 7.
The Deal
- Use a Dosh-linked credit card when shopping in-store at CVS and earn 5% cashback.
Key Terms
- Expires October 7, 2018 at 11:59pm CT.
- Must use Dosh-linked card.
- Prescriptions filled at the CVS pharmacy are not eligible.
- Excludes gift card purchases.
- $5 max cashback per day.
Quick Thoughts
Dosh usually offers 2% cashback at CVS, so 5% is a decent increase although the higher rate is only available for another few days.
It’s a shame none of the credit cards with quarterly categories (e.g. Chase Freedom, Discover) are offering drugstores as a bonus during Q4, as that would’ve been a great way to double-dip. One of Chase Freedom’s categories is Chase Pay, but I don’t believe CVS accepts that as a method of payment. I might be wrong about that though, so let us know in the comments below if that’s an option. That said, even if CVS does accept Chase Pay, that might affect whether it tracks with Dosh.
Seeing as CVS sells gift cards, this is a good way to get an additional 5% back on top of any other gift card deals they might be running at the moment. There’s no maximum cashback limit mentioned in the terms unlike the Sam’s Club deal, so hopefully that means there’s no limit rather than there being a limit that’s not been advertised. Edit: Gift card purchases are now excluded and there’s a maximum of $5 cashback per day.
If you’ve never used the Dosh app before, here’s my referral link. I get $5 if you sign up and you get $5 as well.
Does anybody know definitively if these apps track payments made through Samsung or Apple pay?
Just a thought, Samsung Pay with Chase Pay. 5% for chase pay quarterly bonus, and Dosh 5%
Which of these apps can be used simultaneously? Spent, Drop, and Dosh are the ones I know of but I don’t know if they can all be used at the same time.
Spent and Dosh run on the same network, so they don’t stack. It looks like Drop is on a different network. DoC has a master list of the different programs which is a great resource. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/complete-list-card-linked-store-reward-programs/
If you have two programs that run on the same network (say spent & dosh), in which program do you get the points? I assume the last program that you signed up for? Do you have undo your info before installing the program you want to use? Thanks for any help
To be honest, I’m not sure. I know with the Rewards Network dining schemes, if you enroll the same card in a second program, it automatically removes it from the first program you enrolled it in. I don’t know if Dosh, Spent, etc. work that way though.
So I could buy a Visa giftcard and potentially offset the whole fee??
Yes, that should work.
Sam’s Club earns 5% with Freedom + 5% with Dosh
I’m curious if this might be regional? I’m in DC and don’t see CVS even as an eligible merchant in the app either at 2% or 5%.
I guess it might be. I’d have thought that it’d be available at any CVS nationwide, but it sounds like that’s not the case.
I dont see it here in Arizona either.
I’m in Reston and just bought a VGC at CVS. Minutes later, my cashback showed up in Dosh.
