Quick Thoughts

The cheapest subscription to The Motley Fool costs $19 per month. Seeing as your subscription has to be active for at least 45 days, that suggests you’d need to pay $38 in exchange for the miles / cashback.

Mile Nerd notes in the post though that the person that tipped them off about this said that the deal can be done for only $19. That seems to suggest that payment is taken at the end of the month rather than at the beginning – does anyone have any data points for this being the case?

Doctor of Credit has highlighted that Cashback Monitor lists the highest cashback rate as $90, but you can actually get $100 through RebatesMe. On the RebatesMe website, they list it as ‘Motley Fool US’ rather than ‘The Motley Fool’, which might be why Cashback Monitor isn’t picking it up, even though it was listed on there until just a few days ago.

If you don’t have any immediate need for miles, it might be worth holding off on subscribing. That’s because since appearing on portals in March 2018, the mileage rate has gone as high as 7,400 miles several times (on the AAdvantage portal).

The terms also state:

Eligible on one (1) subscription per loyalty account number.

That suggests you’d be able to subscribe to The Motley Fool via each of the portals in order to earn bonuses. Again though, it might be better to wait until the rate increases, at least with the AAdvantage portal anyway seeing as it’s known to have had a higher rate several times.

It was 5800 united miles a few days ago (on 8/8) for united card members. If I recall it was 3900 for those w/o

Andy

That was only for Stock Advisor at that time. Anyone know if you could do the 1 year Rule breakers subscription for $99 and still qualify for these?

alexisS

I wonder…. first, the RebatesMe site says: Special Terms & Exclusions
·Cash back only be valid on the amount you actually paid for goods.
which would seem to mean that you have to pay at least $100
ALSO… MF has many different newsletters / subscriptions…. how do you know which this applies to?

Anastasia

Well, I just got the confirmation email. I bought the $19 subscription, and it says I’ve earned $100 cashback.

Anastasia

So it looks like you could subscribe for $19 (or $38, depending on when they bill you) and get $100 back with RebateMe? So just make $62?

Anastasia

Well, that is excellent, except I forgot to turn off Adblocker when I clicked through and now I feel like an idiot.

alexisS

? My mac often gets messages saying “turn off adblocker software” but I don’t have any! how does this affect things?

Anastasia

Well, theoretically it might prevent your browser from properly tracking the click/purchase. Mine seems to have gone through even with the adblocker, though, I just got the confirmation email.

[…] Frequent Miler points out another bonus that’s even better!  If you go to RebatesMe, you can earn $100 cash […]

It was actually over 10k when it first appeared on Alaska’s page. I hesitated of course and it has fallen quite far since then
