Quick Thoughts
Getting free spins involves clicking through to the shopping portal, dining portal, and so on. You don’t actually have to do anything (even the one where you share on Instagram / Twitter really just requires clicking the “share” button, it gives you the spin whether or not you really share it).
My wife and I each took six spins this morning. I got 400 bonus miles on one spin, 40 miles on another, 400 bonus miles on a $40 AA dining purchase, and a Hertz upgrade and 3x miles (from the sounds of the industry, actually having a car available may be an upgrade – not sure how useful this coupon will be). My wife got absolutely nothing on 5 spins out of 6.
On her 6th spin, she got 20% sitewide at FTD, which isn’t much better than nothing. According to the promo terms, the following prizes are available:
-
1-year Admirals Club membership (200 available, max 1 per person)
-
4,000 AA miles (35K available, max 2 per person)
-
Admirals Club Day Pass (7.5K available, max 2 per person)
-
$20 Mastercard $20 digital gift card (1200 available, max 1 per person)
-
400 miles (230K available, no limit per person)
-
40 miles (500K available, no limit per person)
-
Preferred Seat Upgrade for one (45.5K available, no limit per person)
-
Main Cabin Extra seat upgrade (22.5K available, no limit per person)
-
Spend $40 on a dine, earn 400 bonus miles (20K available, max 1 per person)
-
Spend $40 with AA shopping, earn 400 bonus miles (5K available, max 1 per person)
- And more prizes like discounts and/or bonus miles with Hyatt, car rental partners, and more
Most of the prizes aren’t terribly exciting but are nice for low effort. I’ll add the entering to my morning routine and see if we can snag some easy bonus miles.

Todays Prize: “Complimentary One-Car Class Upgrade + Min 500 Base AAdvantage Miles with Avis Car Rental*”
only getting 1 spin a day. spin 1 = 0. spin 2 =400pts
Nothing yesterday, but got a discount on Lifelock (landed on Miami) and 4000 miles (landed on nyc) out of six spins today. I’ll take it!
I have now spun the world 20 times (between my account and my wife’s) and have exactly nothing to show for it. Harrumph.
played 6 spins for 3 different accounts and got 18 sweepstakes entries. Boo
Just got the big prize – 40 miles ! Minutes later I got a winner confirmation email from ‘Hello World customer care’. So if you see ‘Hello World” in your email, don’t delete it.
10 spins in and nothing at all to show for it
20% of at FTD! Be still, my heart!
Main cabin extra seat upgrade! Not 100% what that gets me?
Ah, nevermind…. that’s what AA calls their premium seating.
far from random, 10 spins yesterday all 40 points, today 4 spins all 0 points! LOL!
I could only earn 4 spins but picked up 40 miles
I got 4k miles, wife got nothing, son got one free upgrade. Not bad for first day of trying!
Do you think getting any miles would be considered an activity to keep existing miles from expiring?
I would think so, to change the programming probably would be more difficult than it would be worth for AA.
0 for 5 today.
I was able to get 40 miles yesterday. If nothing else, that should ensure the miles I have stay valid for a while longer.
