Ebates Double Cash Back

In honor of the Fourth of July, Ebates is offering double cash back (or better) at a range of stores this week. Highlights include 10% at Walmart, 5% at Canon USA, and up to 15% back at Expedia (maybe).

The Deal

  • Double cash back (or better) at many stores through the Fourth of July (rates are surely subject to change at individual stores)
  • Direct link to promotion

Quick Thoughts

Always compare rates with other portals before making your purchase. For instance, 10% back at Walmart would generally be excellent, but right now it’s second-best to BeFrugal’s 10.5% back (and a few days ago we wrote about how it hit as much as 12%). That said, some stores are at or near high points compared to other portals through CashBackMonitor.

One interesting rate is at Expedia. Ebates claims the rate is “up to 15% cash back”. However, in their payouts, they mention the following rates:

As you can see, it is not clear which type of booking qualifies for 15% back. I expect that it will be applied to cruises (and perhaps the site will be updated today to reflect this). Assuming it does apply to cruises, I imagine this could result in a nice discount on a cruise. On the other hand, ShopAtHome is currently offering 16% back on cruises through Priceline, so you’d better shop around.

Keep your eye out for other good rates and potential rate changes as we saw several changes on the Walmart rates last week. We will let you know if we find any standout deals that match up with this promotion.
