Elevated Hilton consumer card offers available (but might not make sense)

7

There are links out that feature slightly elevated Hilton consumer card offers. These new offers only add an additional 10K points to each offer. That’s not enough to really move the needle on applying and keep in mind that if you have a second player (a partner with whom you work to accumulate points together), you’ll probably be better off using his or her referral link to apply rather than taking up one of these offers since the referral bonus that your partner can receive is most likely worth far more than the additional 10K points here.

Quick Thoughts

Each of these slightly elevated offers adds 10,000 points over the welcome bonuses available via a friend referral. That would make these offers a better deal than usual if you don’t have a partner whose referral link you’d like to use.

However, since Amex offers the ability to refer to almost any Amex card, it would likely be a better deal for your “Player 2” (a husband/wife/sister/brother/partner) to refer you. Keep in mind that if your friend or family member sends you a referral link form, for example, an Amex Gold card that offers them 25,000 Membership Rewards points per referral, you can click their link and then choose to view other cards and choose a Hilton card and he or she will still earn their Membership Rewards referral bonus. They could then transfer those points to Hilton and get 50,000 Hilton points for their 25K Membership Rewards points (or more with the current point transfer bonus). That would be a much better deal.

Still, if you’re not in that situation, these new bonuses will give you a bit more than you’d have otherwise had.

Hilton Gold status does NOT offer free breakfast, unless you are staying outside of the US (and possibly Canada). It’s everything from a credit for a certain amount daily (usually $15) all the way to something worthless like a couple bottles of water or 250 HHonors points. The more modest the brand, the more modest the offer.

I received a 150K offer for the surpass yesterday on my am ex account. Attempted to apply but I’m in pop up jail.

Brian

Is the 160k + Free Night certificate for the Aspire in addition to the regular free night it comes with automatically?

Pierre Tong

No, the welcome offer is just the 160K I believe

Jerry

You get the 160K welcome offer and the free night cert on the aspire card. Since day one, the points bonus and free night cert have always been offered as part of the welcome offer

Jo Jo

it is not part of the welcome offer. You do not need to finish the MSR to be able to get the free night certificate. It comes regardless. FM needs to fix this because it makes it look like you’re getting an additional FNC.

Tom

If i recall correctly, the regular free night comes on your first anniversary. So with this offer, you would not get 2 free nights right off the bat, just one, and one after your first year is complete.
