Milenerd reports that some people have been targeted for free American Airlines Platinum status. The offer appears to be tied to the Hilton HHonors program (indicating a possible tie up between AA and Hilton maybe?). It can’t hurt to try. Click here and enter your Hilton and AA info. Let us know if it works. It didn’t work for me.
UPDATE: I called the number shown on the screen when the online form doesn’t work, and was told that this offer is only for people who received a targeted email from American Airlines. The representative was not able to add me to the offer. Please don’t bother calling.

Failed, sticking with Delta and Marriott brands
Hilton Diamond and AA plat without enough miles to qualify as plat next year. No go.. wanted to use this to extend to 2016 on AA.
Anyone have luck by calling and asking about the promo?

Rep had to ask around and was told it was a targeted offer from American Airlines, and there was nothing she could do to extend the offer to me. Oh well.
HH Diamond and quite some tickets with AA this year – didn’t work for me.
Didn’t work for me or my spouse. HH Gold (through credit cards), no status or flying with AA (but 700,000+ miles in the last year thanks to citi!).
I am HH Gold and regular AA member as well, message says: You are not able to register for this promotion online. Please call the Hilton Reservations and Customer Care nearest you for assistance, or call 1-800-HHONORS.
No go for me. Hilton Gold and just a regular member status for AA…
It said I could not register for the deal online.
