This is a small deal, but if you’ll be heading to Staples this week anyway, keep in mind that you can get free passport photos at Staples on 2/29/24 only. This deal is officially limited to the first 29,000 people in celebration of the Staples Rewards program, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the limit is more of a marketing thing than a reality they plan to implement (otherwise this deal would be dead before many stores even open I imagine). My wife is going to need to submit a passport renewal later this year, so we may take advantage of this and combine it with a run to Staples for this week’s sale.

Quick Thoughts
Passport photos generally aren’t terribly expensive, but neither are they always convenient to get when you need them. I believe that Staples usually charges $17.99 for two passport photos, but if you need a few sets for the family, the savings could potentially add up here.
No appointment is required and I don’t know how or whether they intend to notify members when the deal is dead (if it dies?). I assume that you’ll need to join the Staples Easy Rewards program if you’re not already a member. It might be worth calling your store before you make a special trip to make sure that the deal is still on.

The coupon has expired at my local Staples… I assume the 29k limit has been reached on a national level.
One said they ran out of paper, onother said they sold out at the same store. Drove 15 miles. Waste of time.
Wife and I just got one each using coupon in the app. One person ahead of us, so down to at least 28,997 remaining.
Do they take picture as well or do they just print out for us?
Yes, they take the picture and then print it out.
There’s supposed be some kind of coupon for the photo in the app. I can’t find it.
Pretty sure you need the app as well
There are 976 Staples stores in the US. While probably not a likely scenario, if every store got the same number of customers coming in for free passport pics, they would need nearly 30 customers each before they’d run out. Unless they plan on a huge marketing campaign, I just don’t see that happening. So I don’t think we west coasters are at risk of getting shut out by earlier time zones.
My bet – they didn’t even bother implementing a mechanism to count the pics.
I wonder if they will hit the limit before the west coast stores even open.
