New Frontier Miles members can get miles matched from other airline programs for next 12 months

1

Frontier has launched an innovative promotion for new members which can match their mileage balances in other airline loyalty programs. A new member of Frontier Miles can earn up to 1 million miles, but there are some quirks to the feature’s setup you’ll need to be aware of to ensure you don’t end up with nothing.

Frontier Miles Match

The Deal

Key Terms

  • This Offer is available only to new FRONTIER Miles members. Existing FRONTIER Miles members are not eligible to participate. To qualify, participants must create a FRONTIER Miles account and submit the required application form during the specified promotional period.
  • The Offer is valid only for applications submitted between August 25 and September 26, 2025. Applications submitted outside of this window will not be considered.
  • Participants must complete the official Offer form, providing:
    • Their FRONTIER Miles account number.
    • Documentation showing mileage balances from other airline loyalty programs.
    • The portion of their loyalty miles they wish to submit as their “Mileage Match.”
  • A subsequent email will be sent following form submission to collect documentation. Documentation must include an official statement from the respective airline loyalty program(s), clearly displaying the participant’s name, account number, and mileage balance.
  • Participants may submit a portion of their loyalty miles from one or more airline loyalty programs as their Mileage Match. However, they must have enough miles in their accounts to support the Mileage Match submission.
  • The total mileage balances submitted will constitute the Mileage Match. Participants are not required to bet all of their miles from other airline loyalty programs.
  • Incomplete or inaccurate forms will render the application void and disqualify the participant.
  • Participants are required to earn an equivalent number of FRONTIER Miles to their submitted Mileage Match (“Earned Miles”) through eligible activities within 12 months from the date of enrollment in the Offer. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to:
    • Flying with Frontier Airlines.
    • Spending with the Frontier Airlines co-branded credit card.
  • Upon verification that the Earned Miles requirement has been met:
    • Frontier Airlines will match and double the Earned Miles.
    • Matched miles will be credited to the participant’s FRONTIER Miles account within 4–5 weeks.
    • Miles earned through flights will only be credited after the flights have been completed.
    • If the participant fails to meet the Earned Miles requirement within the 12-month period, no matched or additional miles will be credited.
  • This Offer does not include loyalty miles purchased through Points.com or other third-party platforms. Only miles earned directly through eligible Frontier activities qualify for the Earned Miles requirement.
  • Submissions containing falsified or fraudulent documentation will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Participants are encouraged to submit a realistic Mileage Match, as failure to meet the Earned Miles requirement will result in forfeiture of the match.

Quick Thoughts

This is a fun and gamified promotion from Frontier that could work out to be very rewarding, especially if you were planning on taking advantage of any of Frontier’s other current promotions (more about that shortly).

As a quick summary for how this Frontier Miles Match promotion works, you have to register a new account with them; existing Frontier Miles members aren’t eligible.

After setting up a new account, you submit a form at this link providing your mileage balance in one or more other airline programs. If you earn that number of miles with Frontier in the next 12 months, they’ll match it.

It’s important to be realistic with this though. In order to get your miles matched, you have to earn at least that number with Frontier in the coming year. If you don’t earn the requisite number of miles, they won’t match anything. Be aware that you don’t have to list the balances from all of your other eligible accounts; just the ones where you have a realistic chance of earning that number with Frontier.

Let’s say you have the following balances in various airline programs:

  • 75,000 American Airlines AAdvantage
  • 11,250 United MileagePlus
  • 50,000 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan
  • 23,000 Delta SkyMiles
  • 18,500 Southwest Rapid Rewards

If you think you’ll be able to earn 30,000 miles with Frontier in the next 12 months, you might choose to submit the combined balance of your United and Southwest accounts as those total 29,750 miles. If earning 50,000 miles is on the cards, you could submit your Alaska balance only, or your United, Delta and Southwest balances combined if you think you’ll be able to push it to 52,750 miles earned.

You can earn miles eligible for this Miles Match promo via flights with Frontier and/or through spend on the Frontier credit card. Based on the fact that the terms list spending on the Frontier Airlines credit card as being eligible, I wouldn’t count on the welcome bonus on a new Frontier card as being eligible. Miles purchases from Points.com don’t count for the purposes of this offer.

Frontier is doing a great job in trying to incentivize people to give them a try, particularly Southwest loyalists who aren’t enamored with the recent changes to the Rapid Rewards program. They’re currently running a couple of other offers that could work nicely with this Miles Match promo.

One is the opportunity to get an upgrade to Gold status for a $69 fee. Although you have to have a loyalty account with another eligible airline for that promotion, you don’t have to have status with them. Frontier members normally earn 10x miles per dollar spent on flights, whereas Gold members earn 14x. That additional 4x could be helpful in boosting the number of miles you can earn in the next 12 months, particularly if you anticipate a lot of paid flights with Frontier during that period. There’s no need to take advantage of this $69 status upgrade offer if you apply for the Frontier credit card though because that currently comes with Gold status for the first year and the ability to maintain that status through spend.

Speaking of which, Frontier also just launched a limited time spending offer on their credit card. That offer gives you the opportunity to earn a Companion Certificate when spending $3,000 on the card, another after $10,000 spend and a third after $20,000 spend. Those Companion Certificates are only valid for one round trip flight so they’re not as valuable as a Southwest Companion Pass, but if you were planning on going for any of those, the miles earned through that spend would also get matched with this new Miles Match offer.

Frontier is offering to match up to a million miles in your other loyalty program accounts, but that high figure is entirely unrealistic. To give a sense of how much you could earn with this offer though, here are some hypothetical numbers.

Let’s say you expect to spend $1,500 on Frontier flights over the next 12 months; we’ll assume that’s all base fare for the purpose of the calculations. You spend $500 per month on dining on the Frontier card because it earns 3x in that category. You then spend an additional $16,000 on the card at 1x by the end of January 2026 to lock in three Companion Certificates. Here’s what you’d earn:

  • $1,500 flight spend * 5x credit card earnings = 7,500 miles
  • $1,500 flight spend * 14x program earnings with Gold status = 21,000 miles
  • $500 dining spend * 12 months * 3x credit card earnings = 18,000 miles
  • $16,000 credit card spend * 1x earnings = 16,000 miles
  • Total = 62,500 miles

Those miles would then be doubled in a year’s time to give you a total of 125,000 miles. There would probably be some kind of breakage as it’s unlikely the balance you submit when registering for the promotion will exactly match your end total in a year’s time, but this gives a good sense of earnings in that scenario.

If you were to earn that many miles, you’d likely end up with a balance even higher than that. That’s because you earn Platinum status after you’ve earned 50,000 elite status points. That would boost your flight earnings from 14x (with Gold status) to 16x, not to mention the fact that you’d also get free companion travel as one of the Platinum benefits. That could be an extremely rewarding benefit if you travel with a partner; see more details about that new status benefit here.
