Some Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express cardholders are being targeted with a superb offer giving an 85,000 point free night certificate when spending only $4,000 through March 15, 2024.

The Deal

  • Spend $4,000 on the Amex Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant credit card & earn an 85,000 point free night certificate.
  • Direct link to registration.

Key Terms

  • Register & complete spend by March 15, 2024.

Quick Thoughts

The Bonvoy Brilliant card comes with an 85k free night certificate at renewal each year, although the card does come with a hefty $650 fee (along with other benefits like $300 of dining credits and automatic Platinum status). Being able to earn an additional 85k certificate is fantastic, especially seeing as the spend requirement of $4,000 is so relatively low (versus $15,000 spend for Hyatt and Hilton free night certificates on their cards).

You have until March 15, 2024 to complete the spend, so that gives you more than three months to complete the spend if you’re targeted.

Provided Marriott isn’t doing something goofy with these certificates, you’ll be able to top them up with up to 15,000 additional Marriott Bonvoy points in order to book a free night at a property costing up to 100,000 points per night.

Keep an eye out for other spending offers on your card too that could help you earn even more points along the way. We’ve seen targeted spending offers on some Marriott cards recently giving bonus points on grocery or gas spend.

Not targeted. I shouldn’t complain. Player 2 was targeted, and with a few other purchase it made sense to spend $9,500 for the 19000 points bonus.

I signed up through the link. Webpage says I ‘successfully registered’. But when I call Amex to confirm, they have no record of this on my account. Anybody was able to confirm with Amex that they actually enrolled in the offer?

Ken

I was given the “successfully registered” message early December and had no way to confirm anywhere of the status. I still took the chance of running spend up to $4k. Finished the spend Jan. 2 and received the 85k cert on Jan. 12. Just FYI.

Check to see if offer actually is attached to your account.
I didn’t get the email but the link provided by FM stated I was eligible when entering my card numbers on 12/7.
Offer is still not showing up in my account
YMMV

Sadie

I had a purchase I needed to make when the offer posted. I made the payment and received the free night very yesterday. Sadly you cannot top it off. I’m hoping to use it in the Maldives at the St. Regis. With the trick you posted, I see as a cat 9, the lowest price it will go is 85k. Listed as 88k right now. Hopefully it’ll drop the 3K!

Sadie

Update – Happened to look again today at the St. Regis Maldives and I was actually able to use the 85K cert that I earned from this promotion. The room was 90K but it allowed me to top it off.

Marc

Link did not work as I gave up on this card (no retention offer available) in October and downgraded it. Wish this offer had been available then.

worked, thank you. hopefully this won’t get confused with the regular 85k free night I will receive around the same time frame.

Did get the email yesterday. Lots of other goodies like 5 points for gas purchase till 12/31 and add card to Apple pay, 3 purchases of $50 each and $5×3 statement credit. Bonvoy indeed !

VIS

Got it. Thanks. Already have one 85k free night expiring in May and if upon renewal get another free night. Total 3 nights and Ritz here I come.

ECR12

same as @maryjane. didnt see email but the link worked. Thanks!

Hi, just one question !

I got the mail but I can’t enroll the offer. I put my card information in and it showed that this offer is only available for the targeted member…. But I do received the email 🙁

When I login to my account, I can’t see the offer neither….

What should I do 🙁

Mary Jane

no email but got it thru the link

Andrew

I have the $95 Amex Marriott card and was offered a bonus 10 points on spend at grocery stores until the end of the year on the same email. So 12 points per spend which isn’t bad, but not a free night.

I got a rock (twice)

Sadie

I was able to sign up. In the terms and conditions, it states:

“The bonus Free Night Award can be redeemed for a one-night stay inclusive of room rate and applicable taxes at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels with a redemption level at or under 85,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.”

It also says the award “will be automatically deposited into your Marriott Bonvoy member account within 8-12 weeks after you reach the Threshold Amount in the form of an e-certificate. The bonus Free Night Award e-certificate will expire after 1 year from issuance.”

I am planning a stay in the Maldives next September and would love to have an additional free night certificate that I can top-off for another night. Sadly, the terms and conditions of the annual free night certificates include the language about using up to an additional 15k points and this one doesn’t so I don’t think I will be able to. I’m still going to complete the offer though.

Bryce

Catching the absence of language! Nice. I’m going for it too and am optimistic it can be topped off. I’m not familiar with any Marriott certs that can’t be (unlike IHG where there’s precedent). Weird timing of this promo, on the heels of the end of cert extensions.

Dan

This has terms like a retention offer where it says you must keep the card open for 12 months after the FNC is awarded.
