Every Thanksgiving week for the past several years, Hulu has run a promotion giving a subscription costing only $0.99 per month. That’s back this year and there’s a couple of ways to stack it this year to get paid for taking out this subscription.
The Deal
- Subscribe to Hulu for $0.99 per month for 12 months.
- Direct link to offer (but it’d be better to click through from TopCashback).
Key Terms
- Offer for Hulu (With Ads) plan only: $.99/month for 12 months, then auto-renews at $7.99/month or then-current regular monthly price.
- Ends 11:59 PM PST on 11/28/23.
- Cancel anytime, effective at the end of your billing period.
- No refunds or credits for partial months.
- New and eligible returning subscribers (who have not been Hulu subscribers in the past 1 month) only; Disney+ Basic (With Ads) and Disney Bundle subscribers are not eligible.
- Not combinable with any free trial of the Hulu (With Ads) plan or any other promotional offers or pricing (including the Disney Bundle); not redeemable via gift card.
- Any plan switch after redemption of this offer will result in forfeiture of the discount pricing.
Quick Thoughts
Getting a year of Hulu for only $11.88 is an excellent deal, but it’s possible to make it even better than that. If you have a consumer Amex Platinum card, that has a $20 digital entertainment credit per month with Hulu being one of the eligible partners to redeem that credit.
That effectively makes it free (although you are still paying the card’s annual fee), but it’s also possible to turn this into a moneymaker. At the time of scheduling this post last night, TopCashback was offering $12 cashback for a new Hulu subscription. Fingers crossed that rate is still available by the time this post gets published, but if it is it means you’re either making $0.12 profit if you don’t have an Amex Platinum card and $12 profit if you do. Either way, it’s an excellent deal.
Note that it says that Disney bundles via Hulu are excluded, but it might still be possible to add that to your subscription – YMMV. Also note that this year’s deal is for the version of Hulu with ads; at least some previous years’ promotions have been the ad-free version, so this year’s cheaper price reflects that.
Topcashback is a scam – I had to submit a claim back in December and I got an update saying “the merchant has made the decision to decline this claim.” Rakuten is and always will be the way to go. Don’t trust these shady companies!!
So far, Top Cashback did not track my purchase, BUT it did trigger the bonus 1000 points from Bilt for Hulu and other merchants. So, that is a nice little win.
I just subscribed (even though I already have Hulu from Spotify Student) just to try getting the Top Cashback bonus. Paid with Bilt, hoping to trigger the targeted bonus 1000 points for making a Hulu payment. If one of these tracks, I come out way ahead of the $1 I spent. Worth the risk.
Hulu has sooo many ads on its basic plan that this isn’t worth it whatsoever if you can’t upgrade to ad free for a few $$ more.
This — 1,000 times this. I’m too old to sit through that many horrific ads.
Anyone know if you can add Showtime ($10.99 per month) to the $0.99 Hulu subscription and get that covered by the Amex streaming credit for Hulu?
I just signed up for TopCashBack and got Hulu for a month for 99 cents. I clicked on the link and everything. How long does it take for the $12 offer to post?
It should track fairly quickly, although I’m not sure how long it’ll take to become payable – I imagine a month or two.
for me took under an hour to show the pending $12
@mauro Mine has been well over an hour and nothing. It says 2 clicks, $0, total spend $0.00, total cash back $0.00, and current rate $12.00.
Is there a way to contact them about this?
You can ad Disney for $2. I did it this morning. Also, Rakuten is offering $1 cashback if you have no desire to sign up for the other option listed in the article.
I have kept Hulu in-spite of not using it much because of AMEX honestly. I did have the no ads subscription, but thought, who cares since I haven’t watched Hulu in so long I don’t remember.
I also decided to switch because they included the Disney portion for $2. My granddaughter watched Disney. I don’t think she will pay much attention to ads being there or not.
best part is I was paying 19.47 a month, now 3.24. 196.74.
now I need to look at the other AMEX options I have because Hulu was using up all of P2s entertainment credit. This will leave me almost $17 worth of that credit now.
Good luck folks!
No ads please.
