Southwest isn’t the only airline making it dirt cheap to get some aloha this Fall. Hawaiian Airlines also has an excellent cash fare sale going on for flights from the US West Coast to the various Hawaiian Islands. Tickets start at $62 one-way from California and $72 from Phoenix. There are several Midwestern cities available ~$110-$120. The East Coast is less of a bargain at ~$350+.
Dan’s Deals posted about this earlier today, but seemed to indicate that it’s just from LA. Turns out, many or most of Hawaiian’s routes are on sale. The cheapest prices are for basic economy, which offers a free carry-on, but no seat selection and $30 checked bags. Regular economy flights run ~$40 more each way, so if you’re checking bags that might be the way to go as you’ll get seat selection as well.
As of writing, availability is wide-open between late-October and early-December, and mid-January to early-March. There are limited seats on each flight, but you have 24 hours to cancel for a refund, so get on these quick if you think there may be some sand in your future.
These flights are also showing up on the Chase Travel Portal for ~$70, so can be booked for ~4,600 points if you’re a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder.
The Deal
- Hawaiian has a fare sale from many US cities to Hawaii for as low as $62 one-way.
- Can also be booked via Chase Ultimate Rewards for ~4,600 points each way
- Basic economy starts at $62, regular economy at $102.
- See full list of cities here
Quick Thoughts
This is a very good sale, especially for folks on the West Coast. Given that Southwest has a fare sale of their own going on today, it’s worth taking a look at both to see which one is better given your departure airport and dates.
These flights are showing up on all travel portals. The Chase Portal is adding about ~$8 to each flight, but it does allow booking using Ultimate Rewards for ~4,600 points each-way if you have a Sapphire Reserve card. This would also be a good time for Altitude Reserve cardholders to bust out those real-time mobile rewards.
Cap1 portal shows similar pricing. I may use VentureX’s credit on this
