[…] a week ago American Express released a new round of Amex Offers including $10 off $75 at Home Depot. This offer is really good because Home Depot sells a variety of merchant gift cards. This means […]
Spent $40 on groceries at WFM and loaded $35 to one of their gift cards that lets you choose how much you want to put on it. Got the ‘Congrats you’ve used your offer’ email.
i know the terms say gift cards online won’t work. But what about for an actual HD gift card? Anyone try?
Yes. Congrats email received.
You should link to FM’s post on gift card options at Home Depot from last years similar offer.
FYI, Went to Whole Foods. They only sell their gift cards. Did the 75 and got an immediate confirmation from AMEX. Next up HD.
FYI, went into Home Depot today and bought 3x $100 VGC’s with the goal of splitting payment on 4 AMEX cards. Got the “Congrats you’ve used your offer!” email from AMEX on all 3 cards…yes, 3, because the cashier at Home Depot is stupid and put the balance on the 3rd card. Loss of $15!! She should owe me lunch…
Hey Shawn,
On the S&F AMEX deal, if I’ve already used it 3x via AMEX account–can I added through Twitter again and do another 3x on same Amex account?
No you can only get the credits 3 times no matter how you register for the offer.
Do those terms mean that if you actually go into a store and buy a Visa Gift Card that they’re going to go through the purchase data and not give you a credit??
They aren’t really excluding gift card purchases in-store. In most cases the gift card purchases are excluded online. Which part of the terms are you referring to?
“gift cards sold by third parties”. Generally when using a comma delimited list, it would indicate a seperate instance. Since it already incorporates “all gift card purchaes made online”, then is delimited by a comma, one would infer that they are smart (i know, big assumption) and are not referring to the same exact exclusion mentioned right before the comma.
I know in the past these usually work for buying VGC’s in store…but that wording throws me off. Unless, thinking about it in further depth, are they referring to buying a Home Depot gift card at, say, Staples??
Either way, I fully plan to go during lunch and purchase 3, $100 visa gift cards (unless they sell $200 now)
Another targeted offer – from Hilton Garden Inn 30$ credit for 150$ purchase.
Saw this one as well. It was only on one of my cards but can be registered for using #amexhgi
