hyatt diamond instant match

Update: PDX Deals Guy has confirmed that he was told you can also request the match by sending an email to Goldpassport@Hyatt.com with all of the relevant information. He has also confirmed that received a match through 2017 via Twitter.

View from the Wing is reporting that Hyatt is instantly granting elites of other programs Hyatt Diamond status through February, 2017 if they can prove at least one stay.

While this most likely will not last long, at least one reader has confirmed being granted the status instantly after requesting it.

If you are interested then hop on Twitter and respond to this tweet. Good luck!

I emailed morning of the 20th and got Diamond evening of the 23rd.

Gabriel

I sent an email Thursday night…got a confirmation and haven’t heard back from Hyatt STILL…ugh…

bruce

Okay. Got the diamond status. I sent DM and email hyatt. Twitter is much faster in my case. And 4 reward coupons are already in my account. What they need is a screen shot of your elite status with other hotels (spg, marriot, ihg, hilton etc) and your stay history within one year. I used my spg gold membership.

Ken

I found that form with a Google search. So I can send points from my Ink Bold to my wife’s Hyatt account since she’s an AU? That’s great news!

Thanks guys.

Dee

Woo Hoo!! Got it! Thursday night, I DM’ed with my Gold Passport #, a screenshot of my SPG Gold acct page and a screenshot of my most recent Sheraton stay (I was actually staying at a Sheraton last night) to the Hyatt Concierge twitter acct.

This afternoon, I got this reply..
That was perfect. It was exactly what I needed. I just upgraded your account to Diamond status that is good through February 2017. I hope you enjoy your trip to Hawaii. -JS

BTW – We have reservations at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki in February.

My wife and I both have Spire Elite, and she has some award stays. She also has HHonors Gold and some points+cash stays. Would either of those count?

Greg The Frequent Miler

Either one should work. Why not send both just in case?

Ken

Just sent email off with screenshots for my wife. It’s just too bad that I can no longer transfer UR points to her Hyatt account anymore.

Greg The Frequent Miler

Just add her as an authorized user, then you can

Ken

Hold on, I thought with the recent change we couldn’t send points to partner programs except to ourselves.

She is already an AU on my Ink Bold card. Does that mean I can send UR points to her Hyatt account?

Greg The Frequent Miler

Technically, she is supposed to be a co-owner of your business, but yes it should work. Even if it didn’t work, you could transfer to your own Hyatt account and then transfer from Hyatt to Hyatt for free (once per month)

Ken

When did Hyatt start doing free point transfers? I don’t remember that ever existing. How do I transfer to my wife? I can’t find anything in my Hyatt account online that sounds like a points transfer.

Devon

What status will they accept as match? We use such a variety of points our best ones are Platinum in IHG (but no stays this year that weren’t points) and Gold in Marriott

Greg The Frequent Miler

I know that they’ll take IHG Platinum. I expect they would take Marriott Gold as well.

UtahShane

I sent over screenshots in DM on twitter and 2 hours later they confirmed me Diamond status. Account is already updated. No 4 suite upgrades, but I assume I’ll receive new suite upgrades in March 2016.

TN

What screenshots are they looking for?

UtahShane

Showing top status or near top status with competitor program and also a copy of a bill or screenshot showing you stayed there in the past 12 months.

I showed SPG Gold, Marriott Gold, IHG Platinum, and Hilton Gold as I wasn’t sure what program would be matched, but I think any of those alone would work.

TT

Thank you for the help.

asar

Can I get the status matching multiple times.

Greg The Frequent Miler

There’s no way to know. This is likely a one time opportunity

Gabriel

What if you already had a diamond trial before??

Alan

This what I want to know. How many stays required to maintain the diamond during the trial? Same as before?

Greg The Frequent Miler

This is not a trial, it is an outright match to Diamond status. So, to keep Diamond status past Feb 2017, you’ll have to complete 25 stays or 50 nights in 2016.

Greg The Frequent Miler

I don’t think that matters, but I’m not 100% sure.

Jason d

So you have to be diamond at Hilton or Starwood to get this? No golds?
