Quick Thoughts
Earning double points on MGM Resorts stays is a useful offer if you’re planning or have already planned a Vegas stay for this summer or fall.
Remember that those with M life Gold status and higher now get resort fees waived when booking with MGM Resorts, so the bonus points earned from this promotion makes booking an MGM Resorts stay potentially more enticing than booking with Caesars instead if you have status with both.
Question about the Hyatt MGM relationship.
I have a two night cash paid stay at the Aria booked for October.
I am Globalist and therefor MGM Gold.
I would like to receive the waived resort fee that MGM gold receives for booking direct with them, which I did.
I would also like to receive the 2 elite night credits with Hyatt for the stay.
Can I receive both of these benefits? What rewards membership should I have on file with the front desk? Is there anything tricky I need to know?
Thank you to anyone who can assist here!
[…] Do this now: Register for double Hyatt points at MGM properties through October 15. (Thanks to FM) […]
Do you still have to book direct with MGM to get the resort fees waived? I thought that was a requirement when MGM changed their program?
Yes, that’s my understanding unless anything has changed recently.
So no chance to double-dip this with an Amex FHR stay and still get the waived resort fees? I’m not Gold, yet, but that was on my radar if I did get MGM gold was to book with FHR to get those benefits and still bring along the waived resort fee benefit from MGM status.
It might be possible because FHR stays are often classed as booking direct. However, I don’t remember hearing of any data points either way as to whether or not FHR counts for direct with MGM since they started waiving resort fees for those with status.
Hmm.. that’s a good question to pose to the FM Insider group.
