World of Hyatt announced a new promotion this week whereby you can earn double points on stays during summer 2023. However, you need to register before your first stay, you only get double points starting with your second stay, and it is only valid at properties outside the Americas, which likely makes this promotion of limited use for most readers.
The Deal
- World of Hyatt is offering double points after your second stay in Europe, Africa, the Middle East & Asia Pacific between July 1, 2023 and September 15, 2023 when you register before your first stay

Quick Thoughts
I think it always makes sense to register for promotions like these just in case you end up being able to take advantage, but this one feels like it will likely be of limited use to most readers. You only begin earning double points on your second stay, and then only on stays outside the Americas. I actually have two stays outside the Americas booked during the eligible window, but both are award stays, so only incidental spend will count (and as fate would have it, my incidental spend on the first stay is likely to be the stay I’d rather see doubled, whereas I probably won’t have any incidental spend on the second stay).
However, if you have a situation where this could be lucrative, you’ll certainly want to register. In my case, I’m registering because it can’t hurt to toss in my World of Hyatt number just in case I end up with an unexpectedly expensive stay during the promo window. Double base points probably won’t lead me to shift any plans to Hyatt, but I’d rather set myself up to earn them than not.

Does anybody know if an award stay activated the offer?
I have a ten day stay in a European city, already booked. There is another Hyatt property across town. I could alter my reservations to stay the first night at Property #1, then go to Property #2 for the remaining nine nights.
OR…
I wonder if I could keep my ten night as-is, and add a one night stay at the other property, on top of the 10 night stay. Thus, the first night I have rooms at two different properties. When I check out of the Property # 1 (one-night stay), that stay should be over and my ten-night stay should be my “second” stay.
Probably not in the spirit of the promo, but a thought.
Was hoping for a promo like this- I’m in Europe and Asia this summer with Bilt globalist- Hyatt is doing a good job at creating brand loyalty among us less frequent travellers
I have a reservation from Jul 27 -Jul 30 and booked before this promo shows up. Am I eligible? Do I need to cancel reservation and re-book?
No need to rebook. But do you have a second stay? (or is this the second stay?) Only one stay earns you no bonus.
I read the T&C’s but it didn’t seem totally clear regarding the first stay. Does the first stay have to be outside of the Americas in order to trigger the promotional bonus points for the second stay?
I have the same question- hoping the 1st stay doesn’t have to be outside of the Americas but feel like it is 🙁
My concierge confirmed via email that the first stay does have to be outside of the Americas.
