Getting “value” from my Hyatt points means almost nothing at their low or medium range properties. It would be like getting great value for an airline economy seat to Asia- that’s nice, who cares, not why I collect points. Saving $50 is not the point, it’s staying at aspirational properties. If they are eviscerating their high end properties (the entire reason to collect Hyatt points, and/or UR points) then it’s time to move on, and I’ve been a Globalist for about 5 years. It’s been a great run, including PH at Auckland, Sydney, Buenos Aires, Vienna, St. Kitts along with several other nice Hyatts.
Enjoyed the analysis. My take on globalist – globalist benefits are most valuable at high end hotels. Those have been the hardest hit. Being able to still get good value at a Hyatt Place / airport hotels is fine but globalist status is almost irrelevant there.
It’s the delay . . . it’s the pause . . . Wile E. Coyote never expects that boulder to flatten him. But, it does. And, it will.
