Hyatt has launched a new double elite night credits promotion which would ordinarily be very welcome as it can make it much easier to work your way towards earning Globalist status.
In this case though, it’s going to be much harder to make use of the promo. That’s because it’s only valid for stays at Under Canvas properties – Hyatt’s glamping brand – which only has 14 locations. It’s also not great value for award redemptions, so unless you’re planning on paying cash to stay in one of these tents, it likely won’t get you any closer to 60 elite night credits for the year.
There are new FIND Experiences bookable at a couple of Under Canvas properties which could represent better value when redeeming World of Hyatt points.

Quick Thoughts
Someone starting from scratch elite night credits-wise would only need to stay 30 nights during a double nights promotion in order to earn Globalist status. However, as mentioned above it’s going to be hard to earn any bonus elite night credits at all.
There are a couple of key reasons for that. One is that there are only 14 Under Canvas locations around the country, although those are in or very near many desirable locations like Moab, Glacier National Park, Yosemite, etc. If you’re interested in glamping in any of these places, Under Canvas certainly seems like it could be a great option.
Perhaps the bigger issue for readers though is that even though you can redeem World of Hyatt points towards stays at Under Canvas properties, it represents fairly poor value for your points. The reason why is that Hyatt has placed Under Canvas under its Mr & Mrs Smith canvas banner. Rather than having property categories like they utilize for their other brands, Hyatt uses dynamic pricing at a fairly poor conversion rate from the cash price.

Meanwhile, here are the costs for points redemptions on those same dates:
Even taking into account the additional taxes and fees that would be payable on a cash stay, you’re looking at getting less than 1.5cpp of value for an award stay, making that booking option less appealing.
Having said all that, for someone who already wants to go glamping at one of these properties, who’s flush with Hyatt and/or Ultimate Rewards points, who wants to minimize out of pocket cash expenditure and who might otherwise plan a mattress run at the end of the year to lock in Globalist status, this could be worth considering.

Under Canvas Yosemite
- Cost – $1,560 or 111,428 points
- Includes:
- A three-night stay in a Deluxe Tent at Under Canvas Yosemite
- A food and beverage credit of $200 for use at Under Canvas Yosemite’s café-style dining tent
- Experience includes a private, guided 7-hour tour for two (2) on Saturday June 21, 2025
Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge
- Cost – $936 or 66,857 points
- Includes:
- A three-night stay in a Deluxe Tent at Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge.
- A food and beverage credit of $200 for use at the café-style dining tent.
- Experience includes a private, guided 5-hour stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) adventure for two (2) on Saturday June 14, 2025.
These FIND packages could represent better value for your points. For example, the Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge is only available for a stay starting on June 13. Ordinarily, a three night stay would cost a total of 60,000 points, so you’re getting a $200 food and beverage credit and a 5 hour stand-up paddleboarding experience for only 6,857 more. Depending on how you value that credit and experience, redeeming 66,857 for all that plus a three night stay might be more worthwhile.

Provided the stays are within the 2x promotion dates, they should do.
Did a girls trip to Under Canvas Yellowstone and loved it but it’s not for everyone. From what we paid, the experience package does indeed seem to provide some good value – 3 nights is plenty without electricity!
