Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?

Follow along here!

Marriott and Starbucks have teamed up in order to win the Uninspiring Partnership of the Year award. Despite that, it’s worth linking your accounts seeing as you can set and forget it and hopefully earn a few extra Stars or points in the future.

Marriott Starbucks partnership

The Deal

  • Link your Marriott Bonvoy and Starbucks accounts to earn the following:
    • Double Stars on Starbucks purchases while staying at Marriott properties
    • Earn 100 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points when making three Starbucks purchases during Marriott Bonvoy Weeks.
  • Direct link to offer.

Key Terms

  • The first Marriott Bonvoy week will run July 8-14, 2024.

Quick Thoughts

We received an almost 1,500 word press release to celebrate this partnership. That’s a latte words for a partnership that’s not very grande. I wanted to filter out the non-important stuff as sharing all that would be grounds for dismissal.

So be sure to link your accounts, but don’t count on earning much. Double Stars are only received when you’re actually staying at Marriott properties and 100 points (worth less than $1) are only earned when buying Starbucks three times during occasional weeks during the year.

Starbucks recently updated their partnership with Delta which made that even less rewarding than before. We therefore have on the calendar for November 2099 a Frequent Miler challenge where we have to try and put together a trip using only the SkyMiles and Marriott Bonvoy points earned from their Starbucks partnerships, as it’ll take ~75 years to have any chance of earning a meaningful enough number of miles and points to do that.

Perhaps they have other offers brewing. 🙂

Sadly, at 65 I don’t think I’ll live long enough to earn enough points from this promo to get a grande latte. And, I say this as a Marriott Platinum who frequents Starbucks.

What an amazingly lame “promotion.” Not even a couple points for signing up.

Could they have made the coffee, I mean, promo, any weaker? Not even any token points for signing up like there was for DL. I might, maybe, earn some double stars once in a blue moon with this. Probably won’t ever earn any bonus Bonvoy points unless all the planets and the blue moon align… oh well, at least it’s set and forget…

Greetings from Starbucks! Looking forward to the November 2099 caffeinated challenge.

Nice roast – bold, with notes of sarcasm 😉

I earned a few hundred Delta miles with the previous incarnation of their linked programs, but that’s basically done now. And I doubt I will earn much from this Marriott tie-in. I wonder why they even bothered with this.

Loved the sarcasm; for some reason it just really hit. I still signed up for it, just like the Delta one, because why not, even though I expect to earn nothing across the various programs as a result.
