I received an email this afternoon from Club Carlson with an interesting offer to earn an easy 3,000 Club Carlson points. I spent $1 to be on the safe side, but you could probably spend as little as $0.01 to earn these points!
The Deal
- Earn 3,000 bonus Club Carlson points when you complete your first transaction with any of the Extras Partners in the Club Carlson Mobile App
- Direct link to promotion here
Key Terms
- Valid through December 31, 2017
- Must use the Club Carlson Mobile App
- Members can only receive the bonus once during the promotion period (3K bonus points total)
- Points will be added to your account by February 1, 2018
- No limit to the points you can earn through partner offers
- See promotion terms here
Quick Thoughts
This deal is super simple — you could have 3K Club Carlson points with less than 3 minutes of effort. You can earn 3,000 points total by completing your first transaction with one of a number of different Extras Partners. For example, you could try out the Club Carlson Dining by making a reservation through Resy (and showing up for the reservation). However, the easiest partner with whom to use this offer is easily eBay.
As you can see, Club Carlson is offering 6 points per dollar at eBay.
Most shopping portals pay out in fractions based on your spend, so I would expect any eBay purchase to trigger the credit. You can find some auctions with Buy It Now prices for as little as $0.01. However, in the off chance that Club Carlson insists that you must spend at least a dollar to earn through a partner, I spent $1. To be clear, it doesn’t say anywhere in the terms that this is necessary — but I found something for a buck that’ll come in handy for me.
The following eBay categories are excluded:
eBay Motors (including Vehicles, Motorcycles, Boats, and Powersports; excluding Parts & Accessories), any form of Real Estate, eBay branded Gift Cards, Bullion, and Heavy Equipment within the Business & Industrial category

Bottom line
Three thousand Club Carlson points aren’t worth a ton, but this is the definition of low-hanging fruit. A single easy purchase should get you 3,000 points. Just open the Club Carlson mobile app and click the “Extras” tab.
I received 3000 bonus points. I’m going to use this app to get points when I’m buying on ebay. I think this is better payout than any other portal (up to 2% usually).
Anybody receive their points yet? I know it says BY Feb 1st, but we’re almost there and nothing yet!
I received points from regular purchases, which were on October 26 and November 16th, but no bonus points yet. One of the purchases was an Uber GC.
Did anybody get any points yet? I have nothing in my account.
No, but I wouldn’t expect to. Under the “Key Terms” section, I noted that points will be added to your account by February 1, 2018. We won’t see these points for quite a while yet.
What about points for purchases? I did 2 purchases via app, and there are not a single point appear on my account.
Do you have to pay with your club carlson visa card or can you use any credit card?
Thanks!
You don’t need to use a club carlson credit card. I believe any form of payment that the vendor accepts will work.
As Kim said, there is no requirement to use your Club Carlson visa.
Thank you!

hmm … i wonder if you have to be in the US to make use of this. i’m in asia, and “extras” shows up blank — i’m hoping some other reader has had success outside the US and can shed light …

I have an android and only see 3 of those listed and I wanted to use Groupon. This stinks. I emailed them to see if they can still accept my purchase.
I don’t have Groupon listed in my app — only the options you see in the screen shot (Resy, eBay, Jet, and Seat Geek).
I have delivery.com, Resy, ebay, Jet, Groupon and SeatGeek. I’m on Android as well.
[…] Low-hanging fruit: 3K points for a dollar (or less). Earn 3,000 bonus points when you complete your first transaction with any of Club Carlson’s Extras Partners. They have a few options, but eBay is probably the easiest way to get this bonus. (More details at Frequent Miler) […]
Any idea why iTunes might not be showing up for me?
u have an android, like me?
Bluecat is correct I believe. I have Android, so I didn’t see iTunes, either.
iTunes is on the list too. I was going to buy Season 8 of The Walking Dead anyway so this was too easy for me!

Wife and I both didn’t get this email.
It’s interesting that only eBay-branded gift cards are excluded…
Yes, I just tried and bought Uber GC. I was previously using Swagbucks for that purpose, but at only 1%, Carlson is definitely better than this.
One good way to find qualifying items on eBay is to search for Buy-It-Now ‘usb cables’. These start at 79 cents with free shipping from China…I purchased a glowing 3-ft. cable for ~1.25 USD…it might work as a night light in a hotel room.
Good find. This will be my default ebay “cashback” portal from now on. Was mainly using ebates, topcashback, BA, and swagbucks lately.
