A new Amex Offer came out this morning good for 4,000 Membership Rewards Points after spending $199 or more in one or more transactions at Nest.com. A reader on Facebook reported receiving a different variation: 5,000 Membership Rewards Points after spending $249 or more and another reader reports $40 back on $199 or more — so check your offers for details. (Thanks, Jen and Matt!)
The Deal
- Spend $199 or more in one or more transactions at nest.com and get 4,000 Membership Rewards points
Key Terms
- Expires 10/30/17
- Excludes purchases shipped outside of the US, Nest Pro Installations, and a few others (see terms in your offer for more)
Quick Thoughts
This looks like a nice offer if you’re interested in any Nest products. The offer is targeted (my wife and I got this offer on only 1 card each). The terms state that the offer “Excludes Nest Rebates and Rewards”, though I’m not sure how that would work practically. I know that there are incentives from some energy providers for installing the Nest — you can see some incentives listed here on the nest.com site. I imagine those would stack with this offer, making the Nest thermostat a better deal for those interested. Nest also sells some security cameras online. While this offer wouldn’t be enough to make me buy a Nest on impulse, it’s a good deal for those who had this on their radar.

We got our Nest on Black Friday at Target three years ago for half-price. I haven’t paid attention since to see if the deal was repeated.
