Choice released its latest set of Sweet Spot Rewards this past week which gives discounted award pricing on stays at participating properties through mid-April. Some of my favorite cities are on this list and lots of these properties have suites bookable for this discounted pricing too, thereby making these sweet spots even suite-r.
The Deal
- Get discounted award pricing at 27 different Choice Privileges properties with their latest round of Sweet Spot Rewards.
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- These properties feature reduced Choice Privileges Rewards points redemption levels for the period 2/1/2024 to 4/15/2024.
- Reward nights worldwide are available from 6,000 to 35,000 points (excluding Asia-Pac, where reward nights require up to 100,000 points).
- You may find the reward level for any participating hotel at choiceprivileges.com or by calling the Reservation Program Line.
- Rooms available at these point levels are limited and Choice may change the reward levels or the level of any hotel at any time without notice.
Quick Thoughts
Many of these properties are appealing for one reason or another. I was going to try to highlight just a few of them, but you’ll have to bear with me as I couldn’t restrain myself to only a few.
Don’t forget that Citi ThankYou points transfer to Choice on a 1:2 basis if you have a Citi Premier or Prestige card.
Comfort Inn Victoria, London
Bookable from 20,000 points per night, this is in an excellent location near Victoria Station, plus it puts you within easy walking distance to many popular places to visit in London like Buckingham Palace, Westminster Cathedral, Houses of Parliament, etc.
Family rooms with two double beds are bookable with points too which could be huge for a family of four seeing as many hotels in the UK max out at 2-3 people in a room versus 4 in that room type.
If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you could also pretend that you’re part of the Order of the Phoenix and are entering 12 Grimmauld Place when showing up at the hotel.
Country Inn & Suites By Radisson, Tucson Airport, AZ
This hotel is where we happened to be staying in early-to-mid March 2020 as everything started getting weird with COVID. It’s not an aspirational property (but also not bad either), but is worth highlighting for a couple of reasons.
One is that you can book straight into a one bedroom suite from only 12,000 points. The other is that Tucson is an awesome city with some excellent hiking and natural beauty, particularly at Catalina State Park.
Country Inn & Suites By Radisson, Metairie (New Orleans), LA
Next up is the Country Inn in Metairie. It’s Fat Tuesday next week, so if you wanted to visit New Orleans for Mardi Gras and are balking at the lack of award availability and/or cash pricing for hotels in NOLA, this property could be a good alternative.
It’s only 12,000 points per night and they have suites (as in junior suites, not one bedroom suites) still available. Cash pricing is at $350+ per night, so redeeming only 12,000 points – or 6,000 Citi ThankYou points transferred in – is phenomenal value.
Cambria Hotel Louisville Downtown-Whiskey Row
We stayed at a cute Airbnb in NuLu when visiting Louisville in 2019, but if we were to return I’d definitely be tempted by this Cambria. It’s on Whiskey Row downtown and so has Angel’s Envy two blocks to the east and Old Forester two blocks to the west.
Unfortunately Thunder Over Louisville – an amazing fireworks display set to music – is on April 20 this year, just after award pricing reverts back to normal. Still, Louisville is a fantastic city to visit regardless.
Cambria Hotel Savannah Downtown Historic District
Another Cambria hotel, another city in the south and another city that I adore. Savannah is a wonderful city – one that we added to our tentative list of places to move to once our 50 state road trip ends. Its beautiful squares, vibrancy, architecture, open container policies and Spanish moss adorning seemingly every tree make it a one-of-a-kind place.
It doesn’t look like it’s possible to book a suite with points (there wasn’t any availability on the handful of dates I checked anyway), but it’s within walking distance of pretty much everything you’d want to see in Savannah and is particularly close to SCAD if you like art museums or are planning on visiting your child who studies at the college there.
Country Inn & Suites By Radisson Rehoboth Beach – Dewey
We stayed at the new Hyatt House Lewes/Rehoboth Beach when visiting Delaware a couple of years ago and enjoyed our stay, but location-wise this Country Inn & Suites looks like it’s better if you want to be able to walk to the beach even if it’s not going to be prime weather by mid-April.
For only 10,000 Choice points for a one bedroom suite, that seems like it could be a great deal in theory. However, check cash pricing too because at least some dates have incredibly low pricing – from $65 per night for a standard room.
If you like breweries, check out both Dogfish Head and Dewey Beer Co. At Dewey Beer Co, be sure to try their Berry Rocky Road beer. It’s unlike any beer I’ve tried before and it’s one even my wife enjoyed (she dislikes beer). Absolutely delicious.
The Fort Garry Hotel Spa And Conference Centre, Ascend Hotel Collection
If you’d like to head north of the border, The Fort Garry Hotel Spa And Conference Centre in Winnipeg is bookable from 16,000 points per night. For that price they have a few different suites available (depending on your dates) and is definitely one of the most fancy-looking hotels I’ve seen bookable through Choice Privileges.
Hotel La Valadiere, Ascend Hotel Collection
Last but not least (in terms of hotels I’m highlighting – not in terms of the full list), we have this property near Montpellier in France.
From only 25,000 points per night you can book a Junior Suite Superior with a king bed and private terrace. Meanwhile, if you’re traveling as a family you can use points to book a couple of other types of suite that accommodate four people – unusual for Europe.
Are there any other properties on this latest set of Sweet Spot Rewards that have caught your eye? Let us know in the comments.
Thanks so much! I had an upcoming booking at the Cambria in Louisville (originally booked at 20,000 points/night). I was able to rebook for 16,000/night. Great!
Awesome, have a fun time!
Give this man a raise!
