(EXPIRED) New IHG PointBreaks List Released – 4 InterContinentals On New List

The new IHG PointBreaks list went live yesterday, with properties on the list available for reservations up to February 28, 2019. The most notable properties on the list are probably the four InterContinental hotels, but there might be others that fit your travel plans over the next three months.

The Deal

• Book hotels on the IHG PointBreaks list for 5,000, 10,000 or 15,000 points per night.

Quick Thoughts

The nicer PointBreaks hotels tend to get snapped up quickly, so I’m surprised to see all four InterContinental properties still on the list. The InterContinentals in Cali and Medellin, Colombia are both only 10,000 points, while the properties in Nairobi, Kenya and Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort, Vietnam are both 15,000 points per night.

If you have the IHG Premier credit card, you get the fourth night free on award stays. That means a four night stay at a PointBreaks property costs 15,000-45,000 points, depending on what level you book at. The redemption costs are even lower if you also have the old IHG credit card as that offers a 10% rebate on points redemptions. That would take the net cost down to 13,500-40,500 points.
