MilesTalk notes an awesome new casino status match opportunity in Las Vegas: Fontainebleau Las Vegas, which just had its Grand Opening today, is currently status matching MGM Gold and Caesars Diamond to Fontainebleau Gold, which comes with benefits that will make it worth a stop for those in Las Vegas.
Update: There are conflicting reports in the TravelZork Facebook Group from people who were told that Fountainebleau is not matching. It seems like this may not be consistent. YMMV.
The Deal
- Newly opened resort Fontainebluea Las Vegas is currently offering an unadvertised status match to Fontainebleau Gold for players with other casino status (so far there are reports of both MGM Gold and Caesars Diamond matching).
Quick Thoughts
This match will be of interest for those with MGM Gold status (those who matched before the partnership with Hyatt ended likely still have Gold through January 2024) or Caesars Diamond status since reports are in that both are currently matching to Fontainebleau Gold status.
That’s exciting because Fontainbleau Gold status offers a couple of good benefits, including both a $150 spa credit and a $150 dining credit. Other benefits include upgrades, no resort fees, comped ATM withdrawals (interesting way to track how much cash top gamblers are withdrawing!), more rewards on slot play, and complimentary valet parking.
We don’t know how long this status match opportunity will last, nor do we know if the credits will continue to be offered as part of the match (they are listed as “tier-achievement” benefits in the list of program benefits). However, if you’re in Las Vegas now or in the near future and you have MGM Gold or Caesars Diamond, it could be worth a shot. I don’t know if anyone has tried Hard Rock Icon status yet, but that may be another option for matching (let us know in the comments if you try).
I just tried to status match my MGM Platinum at Fontainebleau, and it was a very No Go.
After reading this article, I went to Fountainbleu. The matching was only for the first day and is no longer offered.
Did not work for me this morning ,but I gave up when the first guy told me they don’t match. I will try again Sunday before I leave town and will elevate if first person denies.
I matched MGM Gold to Hard Rock Icon several months ago at the Mirage
What does that have to do with Fontainebleau?
Read to the end of the post. See where the author asks us to let him know here if we try?
You mention Hard Rock and The Mirage. This is about status matching at Fontainebleau. What part are you missing?
That’s how you read it. I read that he’s talking about matching from Caesars and MGM to Fountainbleau and at the end to Hard Rock also. The question is unclear
Status matching from other hotels to FONTAINEBLEAU. Sorry you’re struggling with this….
Sorry you can’t see another way to look at it. Is this what you do all day? These posts are supposed to help people. Not for stupid arguments. How do your comments help anyone?
You’ve posted 4 comments, ALL of which have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the topic at hand.

Enough. There’s no reason to call people names over a post about status matching in Las Vegas. Keep the comments civil and related to the post, please.
Shawn is right that I meant that I didn’t know if you would be able to match Icon to Fontainebleau — the focus of the post was matching to Fontainebleau Gold, so I meant that I didn’t know whether Hard Rock Icon would match to Fontainebleau Gold for someone who no longer has MGM Gold but does have Hard Rock status.
That’s all — no big deal.
My Gold MGM was matched to Gold. I was told my Caesars Diamond would match to Silver. I was told by two different people at the player’s club that they were not matching I would have to talk to a casino host. Eventually, I got the second person to ask someone and was able to get the match.
So has this been confirmed (matching) or not? I guess I’ll find out soon enough. Also what if you’re Platinum MGM?
There have been both positive and negative data points, as indicated in the post.
Do you know how instantly the credits are available—i.e., can you match at the rewards desk and have dinner with the credit right afterwards?
Usually to get any credits you have to first book a room. Then comes the benefits. Gold at MGM will give you free rooms most days. So FBleau should give free room too but you will have to book first. Once checked in the credits become available and will be taken out of check out bill.
They do not give you 150 on the spot to go spend if that’s what you were thinking.
Ah,so it sounds different from the match that happened when Mirage switched ownership and folks could get 10,000 Unity points (worth $100 of dining) instantly without a hotel booking.
“Usually to get any credits you have to first book a room”
What’s your basis for that? I ask because you don’t need to book a room to use the Caesars $100 Diamond celebration dinner, you didn’t need to book a room when matching to Hard Rock Icon at Mirage to use the dining credit they gave, and I don’t think you needed to book one to use the Wynn dining credit back when they offered a match. You don’t need to book a room to use the $50 free play that Hard Rock Atlantic City has given out when matching, nor do you need to book one to use the free Avila lounge pass that Ocean gives to new Prime members. On the other hand, the free Resorts World stay that you can get as an Ocean Prime member does require booking the stay to get the $100 dining and $100 Free Play credits I suppose.
Anyway, I’m wondering if you have past experience with whatever casino operator is running Fontainebleau, or if you’re just making some sort of assumption?
The first time I put my card into a machine, it popped up that I had the spa and dinning credits available.
If we got matched, when will it expire?
Whatever you get in December will be your status for 2024 however your points start back to zero come Jan 1st.
Good question I would assume you would get all of 2024?
My card expires 12/31/2024
Okay Nick, which cruise matches are available with Fountainebleau Gold status? 🙂
Pallazzo/ Venetian Grazie gives out Atlantis 3 night stay and Wynn/ Encore gives out Cruise.
How do we submit our credentials for a match? Is there a link/form or an email address?
No. Casino status matches are always in person. The Caesars / Wyndham partnership is an exception, but that’s a partnership rather than a match from one casino to another. You’d need to do this in Las Vegas.
