Doctor of Credit is reporting that there is a new, highly-targeted 100K offer for the Chase Sapphire Preferred. This is based on a Reddit report where someone found a 100K offer on the offers tab on their Credit Journey page.
I went back and forth as to whether or not to even publish this. I haven’t seen a screenshot showing the offer and even the original Reddit thread doesn’t have much in the way of people being able to successfully replicate it. At the very least, it’s VERY targeted and won’t be useful to the vast majority of folks. In the end, I thought it was worthwhile to mention it, in case there are any readers that do find it and are able to get it to work…and to get folks familiar with Credit Journey and the offers that can sometimes be found there.
If you’re in player-2 mode, you can get almost the same offer by doing a household referral for the 80k (80K SUB+15K referral=95K). Check out Greg’s excellent dive into the current Sapphire Preferred offer and all of the questions surrounding it.
The Deal
- Highly-targeted welcome offer for the Chase Sapphire Preferred: sign-up for a new card and get 100,000 Ultimate Rewards points after $4,000 in spend within the first three months
- Accessed via the “Offers” tab on the Chase Credit Journeys page.
Direct Link to Credit Journey Page (log-in first)
Key Terms
- $95 annual fee, not waived
- You will not be eligible for the welcome offer if you’ve received a welcome offer on the Sapphire Preferred or Reserve within the last 48 months
- Chase 5/24 rule applies to this card
Quick Thoughts
You’d be forgiven if you didn’t even know you had Chase Credit Journey. It’s a free website that helps US consumers see their credit score and understand the implications of the score. It’s actually a pretty neat feature that can provide a lot of information, especially for those unfamiliar with the workings and impact of a credit score. Chase also uses the page to target consumers for various offers, including credit card welcome offers. That’s where this 100K offer was found.
If you’re a cardholder already, you can reach the page via your desktop using the link shown below:
Once you’re on the page, you can access the offers via the tab at the top:
On the mobile app, scroll down the dashboard and you’ll see it listed in between the Chase Offers and your spending summary.
As I said at the outset, this seems to be a very hard offer to find and I imagine that most people reading this won’t be targeted. Regardless, the current 80K offer for the Preferred is very good and it becomes even better if you have a P2 to refer you.
It’s also worth having Credit Journey on the backburner. Occasionally, offers do pop-up on the page that aren’t available through other outlets, so it’s worth checking it every now and again. The credit and identity monitoring can be useful as well.
Good luck and let us know if you find the offer!
It’s true. I actually signed up yesterday! I got the $100,000 intro offer. Also, if you sign up for the card at a chase branch you actually get the annual $95 waived… buttttt you won’t get the $100,000 intro offer, you’ll get the advertised 80,000 instead.
Thank you!! I just signed up for My Credit Journey and was able to find the 100k SUB!!
Awesome! Glad to hear it!
Here’s my dilemma. My friend gave me his referral code, but then I discovered that I am already pre-approved for the CSP (and every other card it seems) with the same SUB. I don’t want to risk not getting approved through the referral link since I already have four other Chase cards. What to do!?!?!
Use the referral link of your friend. Pre-approval is linked with your ssn which will not alter the outcome via referral (unless you see 100k offer on life journey and referral gives only 80k)
2 player here.. wife has the 100k offer through credit journey, my referral link is 80k. 100k>95k… but is 115k a possibility?
No, unfortunately not. The 100K offer is exclusively through credit journey.
I got the offer, very much considering it!
The 100k offer?
Supposed to be Preferred or Reserve? I think the 1st sentence may have a typo.
Thanks, fixed
