Quick Thoughts
If you buy two $200 Visa gift cards, the activation fees will come to $13.90, meaning you’ll make a $1.10 profit immediately. You’ll do even better by paying with a credit card like a Chase Ink Plus or Ink Cash card that earns 5x at office supply stores.
There’s a limit of one, but you can do this deal multiple times by visiting different stores, on different days or by getting a friendly cashier who’s happy to sell you multiple cards in separate transactions.
[…] deal, especially if you’re able to buy multiples in one store. Keep in mind that this week, Office Max / Office Depot is offering an instant discount of $15 on $300 or more in Visa Gift Cards, so that deal is even […]
Thank you for the heads up!

The everywhere cards: Grocery, Dining and Style also work for the discounts. YMMV whether this works at your liquidation stores. I load them to my prepaids and/or buy MGMOs using the 3 types and they all go through at my WM and WMNM. FYI, everywhere variable cards also have lower fees at $4.95 compared to the fixed $200s with $6.95 fee.
What’s an MGMO, can you please clarify?
they’re MoneyGram Money orders at WM
Thank you so much for your reply. I’ve never used a money gram money order. Is it like get a prepaid credit card that I can then reload and use anywhere?
no, it is like a check that people use to pay for their rent, bills, goods, etc.
money orders are different from prepaid cards that you can load directly with visa/mastercard giftcards and use anywhere. Google reloadable prepaids for more details if you’re interested.
