There’s a new (and possibly targeted) Preferred Hotels Amex Offer out giving $100 back when spending $500 or more on room rate and room charges. Unlike some Amex Offers for hotel chains that are only valid domestically, this one is valid both in the US and worldwide, although only 80% of properties appear to be participating.
The Deal
- Spend $500+ in one or more purchases on room rate & room charges at select Preferred Hotels & Resorts in the US & globally and get $100 back as a statement credit from an Amex Offer.
Key Terms
- Expires June 23, 2025.
- Offer valid for stays at participating Preferred Hotels & Resorts in the US and globally. Please reference preferredhotels.com/amexoffer to view participating properties and book your stay.
- Reservations must be made online only at US website preferredhotels.com/amexoffer in order to qualify.
- Qualifying purchase means a purchase at a participating Preferred Hotels & Resorts property made during the offer period with your enrolled American Express Card and which is in an amount totaling at least $500 USD as posted to your account, following conversion from a foreign currency, if applicable, in accordance with your Cardmember Agreement.
- Offer only valid on room rate and room charges.
- Offer not valid for lodging stays that are paid for before the promotion start date or after the promotion end date.
Quick Thoughts
Preferred Hotels & Resorts has caught our eye over the last couple of years as a result of them becoming a transfer partner of Citi ThankYou Rewards, as well as many of their properties being bookable with Choice Privileges points.
In addition to being bookable with points, Preferred Hotels runs a number of promotions that are valid on paid stays which will stack nicely with this Amex Offer. At the moment, there are the following promos:
- Earn 20k bonus points on 2+ night California stays
- Earn 2,500 bonus points at new Preferred Hotels properties
- Double points at I Prefer Hotels through 4/30
It’s worth casting your eye over the eligible properties at the URL listed in the offer terms though. From what I can tell, there are normally 630 Preferred Hotels properties bookable on their website, but the list at the Amex Offer URL displays 504 properties – exactly 20% fewer properties overall. That means that you still have a great chance that the hotel(s) you want to book a paid stay at will be participating in this Amex Offer, but best to check beforehand as it would be a shame to expect a $100 statement credit, only to later discover that you booked somewhere that the Amex Offer won’t work.
If your stay will cost $1,000+ and you have the offer on two or more cards in your family, you can ask the hotel to split the cost of the stay across two or more cards in order to earn two or more $100 statement credits.
