This is just a quick reminder that if your flights were significantly delayed or cancelled in the great Delta meltdown last week, then ask Delta for compensation if you haven’t received anything already.
Earlier this week I described how my family of three was delayed just over 3 hours. That delay was actually good for us since we were alerted in advance and so were able to sleep in. Still, that didn’t stop me from asking. We received 20,000 Delta SkyMiles each.
You can request compensation either by phone or by clicking Comment/Complaint in the top, right corner of the Delta.com page.
[…] PSA: Ask Delta for compensation if you were impacted by delays or cancellations: Delta’s massive meltdown turned into a near afterthought in the aviation world this past week, but if you were impacted by the days of delays and cancellations, reach out and ask Delta for compensation sooner rather than later. It may take some persistence, but if you don’t ask, you probably won’t receive. […]
You are not missing much with SkyPesos. I got 20,000. I need to fly from LGA to Boston in a few weeks. AA and JetBlue: $48 including taxes for just about any flight. Delta: 20,000 SkyPesos for certain flights, more for others. (Plus $5.60 tax) That makes SkyPesos worth about 1/5 th of a cent. Thanks Delta!! #keepdescending
As “Pay with miles” allows anyone to use SkyPesos for 1c/mile, this is flat $200 worst case.
I asked Sunday and have gotten 0 response. I have zero status. My buddy with status got 20k without even asking – different flights. I think only people with status are getting it at this point.
That could be, but if you haven’t heard no yet, there’s still hope.
